  1. That is just so wrong. What a total PAIN to have to deal with that problem.
  2. This. I avoid it just about all the time. The only time we had to use valet parking was when we stayed at the Capital Hilton hotel in Washington DC. We used our car only once during that week for a day trip. We walked everywhere or used the subway while we were in DC. My 2005 Prius survived the valet parking. I have NO idea where they parked the car. I probably don't want to know.
  3. The seats and lids are always down. That keeps the dogs from drinking where they shouldn't. Having a girlfriend.... I don't have to guess... that would piss WoBG off a lot. I don't need anymore problems.
  4. @Dottleshead have you been here? Grant's Home https://www.granthome.org/plan-your-visit/ Years ago. that was a day trip
  5. We've been there and we went on the Hellgate River Excursion.
  6. I'm glad I didn't drive to see the 100% eclipse. A few interstate highways are parking lots now.
  7. This... We like this place in Rockford for beer and food. It's on the Rock River downtown with outdoor seating. https://psbrewingco.com/brewhouse/#brewpub
  8. https://novascotiaimmigration.com/move-here/ Then again there is this. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/nova-scotia/2023-housing-report-card-1.7057714 I'll stay were I'm living now.
  9. I can't remember the last time I took a bath. Probably a few decades ago.
  10. I didn't know about this. I have more than a few beers ready... and we had wine with dinner.
  11. At our home. If the clouds don't block out the sun, we will see 92% of the sun go dark.
  12. Apparently your government doesn't want us to move there. The foreign ownership ban was extended 2 more years. https://www.canada.ca/en/department-finance/news/2024/02/government-announces-two-year-extension-to-ban-on-foreign-ownership-of-canadian-housing.html
  13. I'll vote for you.... We can do that in IL.
  14. We still have time to vote. Here are the nominees for SBLive’s National High School Girls Athlete of the Week for March 25-31. Voting closes on Monday, April 8, at 11:59 (Pacific Time).
  15. I've seen flying and sleeping bats more often at my old home. And how could I forget the many frogs we have around our pond. They talk to each other all night long each summer. @Kirby would like our pond. When it is raining they explore the area around the house. They sure can jump a long distance.
  16. We hiked at more then a few places. The wildlife encounters that I remember the most... While hiking in the area near Whistler BC, we encounter bears. A mother and 2 cubs. We turned around and got out there before anything bad happened. Hiking in Denali National Park we encountered caribou in Denali National Park. A trail that was south of Anchorage, we saw a stream of water that was FULL of salmon swimming up stream. On that same trail we saw a young bald eagle roosting on a tree branch about 15 feet above the ground that was maybe 20 feet from us, and it just sat there watching us walk by. Wildlife that we have seen near our home. Coyote, deer, wild turkeys, possum, owls, stuff in or near our pond, geese, great egret, blue heron. ducks, and a few times a river otter.
  17. I remember seeing jet cars at the drag races years ago.
  18. We had that for most of last week. The river here just got below flood stage today. It will rain again tomorrow.
