  1. There you go... you will be elected for sure now, even if you don't want the position.
  2. I won't use that much mayo in a year (or 2). So... was the turkey sammich OK? It's only been 4 years and a few months.
  3. I used to ride inside my garage in the winter. I'd move a car our and ride for 30 to 45 minutes. I'd ride intervals to keep things interesting. I needed to pay attention and concentrate on what I dong. One day I'm riding... maybe 25 minutes into the ride. WoBG walked into the garage. I had NO idea she was there. I was in my zone just riding. WoBG says, 'Hi.' That scared the shit out of me. I swerved a bit... just a little too much... and I rode of the side of the rollers, Then I fell over before I could unclip. That was the first time I fell off the rollers in years. It takes a while to learn... but you won't die. You may bruise your ego and possibly you side. I always rode next to a wall on the right. If I did fall over, it would be on the left side and I wouldn't kill the derailleur.
  4. I have a set of Kreitler Rollers. I haven't been on then in at least 5 years. I used to ride them in the winter about 3 times a week. You get to learn how to balance and hold your line. If you don't you fall over and/or ride off of the rollers and fall over. Been there done that.... It's like forgetting to unclip. And yes I used cleats and clipped in to ride them. https://www.kreitler.com/alloy I also used the 'Killer Headwind Fan'. That added a LOT of resistance, based on how much you opened the cover to the fan.

We will both see how this plays out. Crutchfield is indeed awesome.

Absolutely not. Reducing pollution and increasing efficiency are good goals. (not necessarily connected) The next questions are at what cost? Our jobs? Our economy? So the US, Canada, and Western Europe reduce our emissions to zero (which is impossible and impractical) then what? Keep in mind EV vehicles here get 60% of the power they use from fossil fuel. If we succeed at eliminating our contribution to global warming, then we kill off our industry and farm production, but the rest of the world doesn't care. They will just make the stuff we want and ship it here cheaper than we can make it, using fuel. This is interesting about air pollution. https://www.unep.org/interactives/air-pollution-note/ Seems we are doing better than most. Here is a list of what countries use fossil fuel for power. https://www.statista.com/statistics/859266/number-of-coal-power-plants-by-country/ I'm sure the US, Canada and Western Europe will continue to shut our fossil fuel power plants down. Which can be a problem for a reliable power grid... but we will be cleaner. What about the the other counties in the world. Nope.. the world will see a net GAIN in fossil fuel useage. https://www.gisreportsonline.com/r/peak-coal/ India is adding fossil fuel power plants too. India to increase coal-fired capacity in 2024 by the most in at least 6 years And this... assumes 'the science' about global warming etc.. is indeed correct.

Of course not. Soon after the claim we were going to have another ice age, then the banter changed to global warming.
  8. @dinneR per the owners manual, you have 2 ways to output sound that I found; an HDMI/ARC (the red circle) and a digital audio optical output (I'll guess it will be somewhere in this area, the yellow box) You are using HDMI 2 as an input to the TV. That can be used as a audio output too (ARC = audio return channel). https://www.samsung.com/ca/support/model/UN40D6300SFXZC/#tips Page 283 and 284 https://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/201103/20110324091218633/[ENG_US]GSATSCA-1017.pdf The instructions explain how to use the TV with a receiver. A sound bar will work the same way. This is what the digital optical audio port looks like. It is a fiber optic connection. If you need to use the HDMI port 2 for a video input to the TV, that leaves the digital audio optical port for a sound bar. Be sure you get a digital audio optical cable too, it may or may not be included with the sound bar. Regarding your budget.... you get the sound you pay for. I've purchased stuff from Crutchfield. This link should take you to sound bars. This one is an upgrade compared to the one @maddmaxx suggested. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_158HTS2000/Sony-HT-S2000.html?tp=47366

https://www.nytimes.com/1975/09/14/archives/climatic-changes-by-aerosols-in-atmosphere-feared-climatic-changes.html Recent long‐term predictions of climate change have been contradictory. Some forecasters believe a cooling trend has begun that may mark the return to another ice age. Others say a natural 80‐year cycle is nearing its coolest phase and that a marked warming is in store, reinforced by the greenhouse effect of carbon dioxide from fuel burning
  10. No me... I just know how to read the graph on Yahoo Finance.

  12. @Randomguy if you take a picture of the connection ports on the back of the TV (or the model number) then we would know how the sound bar or bookshelf speakers can connect to the TV. The suggestions here may work OK. But I'd hate to suggest something that can't connect to your TV.
  13. This... I use a Yamaha A/V receiver and Klipsch Reference 7 full size speakers with surround sound. It doesn't have to be loud to sound awesome. Then again... WoBG has complained about the loudness from time to time.... for example Dirty Harry is blowing away bad buys. I tell WoBG... gun shots are LOUD. Watching Bohemian Rhapsody at movie theater sound levels is awesome.
  14. What's the model number of the Samsung TV? Does the TV have either a HDMI ARC or eARC output? Before you buy a sound bar you need to know if your TV can provide the sound output to a sound bar.

The remaining farmers will have even more competition from imported food, so people won't buy the local farm products.

I used the Google searched with "why are farmers protesting in the eu 2024" This article from 2-20-24 helps to explain. https://www.voanews.com/a/here-s-why-farmers-are-protesting-in-europe/7494997.html Farmers are protesting across the European Union, saying they are facing rising costs and taxes, red tape, excessive environmental rules and competition from cheap food imports. Demonstrations have been taking place for weeks in countries that include France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Italy and Greece. My read between the lines... The EU is paying hommage to the green goddess. That's driving up the costs to the EU farmers. For example banning nitrogen fertilizers reduces crop output. Less output for more cost. Farmers use lots of fuel to farm. The market place solves the problem by importing foods from countries that don't have most of the self imposed rules, so their crops are cheaper. Kind of ironic you choke off the local farmers to save the planet. But the result is you now use more fuel to import cheaper foods from other places, that don't have bans on nitrogen or tax carbon, etc... and the food all costs more.
  19. I'd have to look, but the septic system probably cost me about $10K. I'll get the bill in the mail probably in a week. Not sure what it will be. I've used this company for years. I just asked them to do it. I'll guess $400. So in 8 or 9 years my cost will be cheaper. Unless something bad happens to the leach field and/or tank. It's unlikely, but shit happens.
  20. I've never watched The Red Green Show. (yeah I had to use the google)

Our state is working on being #1 for taxes on gas. We are #2 now but an automatic increase takes effect on July 1. https://www.illinoispolicy.org/illinois-no-2-in-the-nation-for-gas-taxes/
