Yes, something with the Mazda's push button start searching for signal or some such. Lots of stuff going on there. I just change the batteries every other year so we won't be stranded at the worst possible time. Interestingly, I still have the original batteries in my '04 Dakota fobs.
With todays prices, many people I know cant even begin to afford vehicles with less than 200,000 miles. Recently, one of the girls at work had a $7000 motor installed into her 2006, 275,000 mile Suburban.
The fastest growing business in our town is an HVAC/electrical/plumbing/solar company that tripled in size over the last few years. They cant find and train help fast enough to solve the over a year long wait list for solar installations. https://adamspower.com/
Covid is still making the rounds here. We've recently went for some tests at few local hospitals, masks were still mandatory. At work, a few people caught it and were off for over a week. They all came back to work ten pounds (on average) lighter.
Are the dealers still able to give you updates on its progress, or are they too busy these days? We got updates when our Miata arrived at the port in California. Its progress by train to Minnesota. And when it got loaded on the truck to Milwaukee. The last update was worded, " It just came off the ramp when it arrived at the dealer". I took it that after all that, it fell off the truck ramp.
But it arrived unscathed.
While we're up north in minus twenty temps, its hilarious listening to our granddaughter negotiating with her mom and grandma as to who gets stuck sitting in the non heated center part of the backseat.
The preserve was packed, even though it was drizzling rain. Mrs did pick up a bottle of wine from one of the local wineries at the Ski Hi orchard store. Along with some apple cider donuts for me, of course.

The way things are going at all the dealers, they'll probably put all their extras on the car before you can pick it up and charge you for them. Definitely a hitch. We went with the Husky Brand liners in our CX, they're pretty nice. https://www.huskyliners.com/Floor-Mats-Floor-Liners
Went for a day drive up towards Wisconsin Dells. Got lost on some curvy roads. Checked out a few car dealers, a few antique/crafty stores, had lunch at a brewery pub, then zig zagged back home.

Mrs got several roof estimates for our 1500 square foot house. The average was $9000. We hired the lowest bid, a friend of a friend. He was a flipping nightmare. I'm sure he started his own business because he couldn't hold a job working for someone else.
Theres a reason I traded in my larger cc sport cruiser motorcycle for a 250cc dual sport, and why I have a 155 hp Miata instead of a 600 hp Hellcat. And its not aboot the money. My aging body cant handle that adrenaline rush anymore.
