  1. They changed the scale of cases per 100,000 to keep the map blue and not red.

    Chocolate

Dark chocolate, chili powder, sea salt, and pop rocks. That was the candy bar that killed dark chocolate for me.

    Power is out

Yes it is. Only downside to a well, no power no water.

    Power is out

For a while there, pretty much.
  5. Now it’s my kitchen sink. There appears to be fruit flies in the drain.

    Power just went back on.

That is still in the needs column. The EMC truck is out here. They want to do some cutting.

I heard the transformer blow. It’s local to my brother and me. There is still power on the road.
  9. 1972 BMW Bavaria. First car. Had it from age 16 until I was 37. And I was a dumbass for ever parting with it. Pop bought it new, I bought it from him for a grand when I got my license. It was a magical car, and the most practical sedan I ever owned. It had a stick and a decent suspension for the curves. Tons of room, comfortable seats, shitty AC, and the most elaborate factory tool kit that I’ve ever seen. It was in a drop down in the boot lid. Full wrench set, assorted screw drivers, pliers, a proper tool box. It retired with just shy of 600,000 on the odometer. My Miata was a close second. Had it for 20 years. Best minimalist sports car ever made, hands down, bar none.

  11. Yeah, my childhood chores never ended either. All worth it for Sunday dinner.
  12. I never regretted buying a house next door to my folks.I’m grateful that I got to spend as much time as I could with them.
  13. His saying he wasn’t aware of asymptotic carriers until three months into this showed his concern of attention. Right now his feud with Atlanta’s mayor is giving him rural traction. That’s his current focus.

Property tax and insurance are $333 a month Power, and internet are about $300. Round that up to $700 a month.
  19. Another reason I want to stay here. The bathrooms here already have the grab bars in place, and the master shower is a roll in. Seems trivial but landscape upkeep is one of my concerns for staying here indefinitely. Untended land here turns into an impenetrable thicket requiring earth moving equipment to clear in about three years. The driveway has to be scraped every couple of months to keep the potholes from becoming brutal too. Being able to climb on and off the tractor Is kind of a necessity.
  20. That’s something else I’m grateful for. Mother designed this house to be wheelchair accessible, which was pretty forward thinking for the mid 60s. All of the essential living space is on one level. There are no steps from the car to the bathroom.
  21. Mine either. It’s only a day’s drive away but it’s a totally different world.
  22. You can park it in the pasture.
