How close to Rochester is totality?
I will be up there for this. Going house hunting afterward.

On order. Same with the solar filters for my cameras. May pick up a tracking mount and tripod too.

He did. I however have been swamped with family and moving and did not have the chance to meet up.
I'm mad at myself for that.

Why?
Some scientist said it was key to perfect tea. Their conclusion was faulty.

Ice tea.
Baking soda is better.

The proper amount of sugar is determined by viscosity.

In Nunavut, at least 25 yrs. ago if the sea is frozen with thick layer in winter, they play sea golf. That's what the locals told me, when I was flown up there for a job interview.
Snow golf is a thing in Vermont.

We play our own form of bocce ball. We play back and forth across 3 sections of lawn with some serious hazards (hills, numerous flower beds, terraced lawn sections). It's one of WoKzoo's favorite games.
My more rural friends and I used to play Farm Golf.

I think he's ready for change and his time is running short. His life has been changing and now I think he's ready for a change. Apart from his sister, there's nothing keeping him there. He is free to do what he wants and I applaud him for doing what he wants. I am a believer in inner callings. I repeat: he knows.
I am ready for a change. The last few years have been stressful.
Forwarded the arts
Forwarded science
Improved the lives of my friends
Honored my family
And preserved the environment by giving up my home
With that I'm done with duty for a while. I'm going to enjoy the beauty of nature while it still exists. Make some bad art, catch some fish, volunteer at a nature center or something, study French if I move to a border town.....

What seems, from the outside, to be a quaint and welcoming place, might in fact be restricted and closed to newcomers. Likewise, winter in one week doses might be a fun adventure, but hibernation for three months might start to be a bit of a chore.
Rent and see that you actually love it and fit in and that Yankee charm is what you really want.
I have considered renting. Not my first choice being tied up in a year lease.
Currently, everything at Springwood will be in storage shortly. Then I'm moving into the lake house temporarily. From there I will check out the Southern Appalachians, but that's were I went to boarding school and college, been there done that.
That will get old quick but I will have done my due diligence. From there I am going to bounce around New England renting air b&bs for a month or so here and there.

From outside, looks nice. Wow, that studio bldg. Depending on the location, a place like that will appreciate in value. Guess depends what innards look like and how much retrofit --if needed. Depends if you need a huge backyard, etc. So no garage? Just asking since in snow country, it's nice to have it or carport.
There is a garage under the studio.
It was a doctor's house and office previously.
