  1. Was there ever any confirmation of Roadrunner passing away? I last heard he wasn’t responding to emails. Was something more definitive learned?
  2. Was that LMNOP, or however she spelled it?
  3. I seem to remember them disappearing from LF before it completely went under, too.
  4. I sometimes wonder how Soy at Mittens from LF didn’t make the transition. They were such frequent posters, it seems like there would be a hole in their lives without a forum to post on. I doubt they’re all organic farmers now.
  5. I’m a big Neil Young fan, too.
  6. No, the Stones are the better touring show, with Mick arguably one of the best front men of all time. Eddie’s not that, but I think the other parallels hold. Dave and Paul would be a better comparison, IMO. John and Kurt may have gathered a lot of the limelight, but Dave and Paul both moved past the original band with other solid projects of their own.
  7. No? I really like Vitology, although it’s been years since I played it straight through. I have good memories of Vs., too. And 10, and others.
  8. As the Beatles were to the Stones? They were the two bands at the head of a giant transformation in music. The Beatles and Stones were the biggest players in the British Invasion of the 1960’s, just as the Grunge and birth of Alternative Rock replaced the dinosaurs of the 70’s and 80’s was lead by Nirvana and Pearl Jam. Both the Beatles and Nirvana may have burned brighter, but burned out much faster than their rivals, who have kept at the recording and touring game for much longer.
  9. Top 5, but I’d say with the Beatles, Stones and the Who ahead of them. I get a little bored with Zeppelin, and I don’t know if it’s because of their song structure or feeling it’s been overplayed, or both? But I generally like them.
  10. That’s my wife’s method. I bought a luggage scale to help her realize what a 50 lbs suitcase really feels like.
  11. If that’s a “partial collapse” I wouldn’t want to see a complete collapse.
  12. He just likes to break things in half.
  13. Maybe you can get a spork so that all of your eating is similarly effortless.
  14. Three things you should never break in half.
  15. I guess if it were twice as long I would break it in half. Or just keep buying what I have been and not need to fret it.
  16. I think longer pasta is easier to get/keep on a fork. So no, I don’t break my spaghetti/linguine or Angle Hair noodles.
  17. Don’t you type on a keyboard as your work?
  18. Glad this housing crisis has ended. Will it reoccur next year, or will you be good until your next large raise?
