As the Beatles were to the Stones? They were the two bands at the head of a giant transformation in music. The Beatles and Stones were the biggest players in the British Invasion of the 1960’s, just as the Grunge and birth of Alternative Rock replaced the dinosaurs of the 70’s and 80’s was lead by Nirvana and Pearl Jam. Both the Beatles and Nirvana may have burned brighter, but burned out much faster than their rivals, who have kept at the recording and touring game for much longer.
Top 5, but I’d say with the Beatles, Stones and the Who ahead of them. I get a little bored with Zeppelin, and I don’t know if it’s because of their song structure or feeling it’s been overplayed, or both? But I generally like them.
Have you ever heard of these guys? I’d give our beat reporters some respect if they were reporting things, but these are National guys but total no-names, as far as I know.
And yet any of them would play on any other team for the right $. They’ll be all hugs and embraces after each game played this year, regardless of who wins or loses. It’s just a business, after all.
