    I love those shows, where the thinnest circumstantial argument is held as absolute truth. They usually have enough cliff-hanger storyline to keep me through the first commercial, and by then I’m convinced there are UFOs. By the way, what’s Ryan up to these days?

    Apparently. Although I have to admit I wasn’t aware of the shooting deaths of 6 people. It’s just too common to either get enough media attention or to register an impact, I’m afraid.

    Unfortunately, deaths lag. I think Omicron hit the UK at the same time as us, so I think it’s too soon to know the Omicron death rate. Overall, the numbers look bleak after Thanksgiving. Infections up 43% in the US in the past two weeks, hospitalizations are up 23%, and deaths up 32% during that time. So we’ll see what the next two weeks bring.

    I always confuse condensed and evaporated milk. I have to check holiday shopping lists quite closely to make sure I don’t purchase the wrong ingredient.

    I had heard they contemplated giving each of the kids doses of Valium to keep them calm during the dive portions of the escape. I think they ultimately scrapped that plan, feeling it was to difficult to dose them adequately and lead them out. But the prevailing concern was they kids would panic badly when needing to go under water.

    King Crimson just finished a tour of Japan and said it may be their last show. Not that the band stayed consistent over the years. But a good long run. [One of?] Their first show[s] was as an opening act to the Stone’s at Hyde Park when Brian died.

    There’s a strike. Kellogg’s is threatening to fire all 1,400 striking workers.
