  1. London’s pretty flat. And yet, London’s pretty flat. And it looks like a sub-compact sized, single front chainring. BMX-like. I’m disappointed with @Razors Edge for not discussing the electronic shifting. And @denniS for not calling out the lack of single speed setup. Me, I’d have gone fixed gear.
  2. I think it gives the ability to spew crazy in a format that doesn’t necessarily make that apparent right from the start. In the past, that would take the form of a ditto or Xerox copy of single-spaced, typewritten manifesto. No one was going to read that with the expectation of sanity within. Now it’s a formatted “news” story, electronically presented, or snippet of information in a meme that don’t leap out as being off-base quite as loudly. Agreed. And domestic provocateurs.
  3. Just worry. The increase in money going to the after 50 “catch-up” increase to fully max out retirement savings and a simultaneous attempt to pay off my mortgage within the next five years by throwing extra cash at it each month has made spending money tight at times. Inflation and a kid still in high school and another in college also takes it’s toll. Although I’ve increased my work schedule so as to maintain planned vacations, and a master bathroom remodel. So overall, just worry.
  4. I don’t know where things are in terms of the Federal mandate, does that kick-in in December for anyone working with Medicare/Medicaid patients? Although I don’t know if that will apply to this woman, as they are a research unit… unless similar mandates will apply for NIH funded grant workers? My wife’s hospital has not (yet) taken the mandated approach due 1) a fairly high vaccination acceptance rate locally and 2) fear a mandate would lead to staffing shortages due to resignations, causing a bigger hole in patient care. Obviously, I disagree with that decision. Oh, and the kicker is we obviously can’t prove it was this woman, she could obviously claim someone else exposed the both of them. And she’ll never test herself for Covid. MAYBE my wife’s unit’s Medical Director will act, she knows this woman’s vaccination status and attitudes, but by now it’s too late. And now this woman will have natural immunity (and actually be medically contra-indicated for a vaccine for awhile).
  5. This woman doesn’t believe in Covid. Prides herself for not missing work. Anti-Covid vaxxer. She is a nurse.
  6. Mailing address is Pittsburgh. I’m probably 4 miles from the city line.
  7. Maybe. Toronto is in town to play the Penguins this evening.
  8. Exciting first half. And a blimp for @Kirby.
  9. Nothing. I am much more comfortable with small group teaching than lectures. I always anticipate the grandstanding egomaniac asking questions at a lecture, and I don’t like them. Politics don’t belong in academia, but they exist.
  10. She had gotten Pfizer in February, but not the booster. I got the booster a few weeks ago. Hoping it will protect me from any illness. She’s doing ok, so hopefully her vaccines will keep her from more serious illness.
  11. I loved his acting work as Bob in Fight Club, too.
  12. Or a witch. I heard they are made of wood. And tis the season. Good morning! Rainy and cool here. My wife is still under the weather, but feeling better. My son will fill in as my companion for Pitt vs. Clemson this afternoon.
  13. It’s probably the song that I heard in the radio that prompted me to make the purchase, I would imagine. Or the imagery of all the tattooed faces on an end aisle display? But it made a fan out of me, for life. Start Me Up started as a “reggae” sounding track in 1975. They then did two takes more up tempo, but bagged the song, feeling it just wasn’t there. Those two takes were rediscovered by an engineer years later, and evolved into what we know.
  14. All of my favorite albums are now 40-50 years old. The first LP I ever bought at age 10 was Tattoo You, which was released 40 years ago.
  15. I agree, I usually fall off a cliff on Thursdays. I don’t even bother with the Saturday puzzle. Sunday’s need patience, you can chip away at them with some success.
  16. Pennsylvania has one. It may be as simple as some states don’t want to contribute data.
  17. Rapid test was negative. PCR will be back 24-36 hours.
  18. Yeah, but his faucet is preset to “spray” function, so it’s all moot.
  19. That woman’s not vaccinated, either. 🤬
  20. Of one my wife’s coworkers came to work sick this week. Took off her mask, coughing. Now my wife has 101+ fever and is coughing up a storm. Trying to get a rapid Covid test at the moment. So frustrating. If you’re sick, just stay home.
