  1. It’s worse than just information overload, it’s that certain media platforms reaffirm people’s already held opinions and flood them with similar information and connections with like-minded people. Yes, Web-MD made everyone an instant-fucking-expert, but put those people in an echo chamber and you end up with demands for malaria and parasite treatments for a viral infection. Or, in other countries, drinking camel urine. Johnson & Johnson vaccines should be hugely in demand for people who claim they don’t trust the technology of the mRNA vaccines. Especially now that with a booster the protection matches that of the 2-dose mRNA forms. But it won’t be, at least in this country.
  2. I think La Croix may have more alcohol than Zima, to be honest.
  3. They wouldn’t even need to leave the parking lot. Maybe that’s what’s causing the back-long. Long-term parking.
  4. I had the same issue on Friday with people trying to get into a Wendy’s parking lot of all things. Backed up a half-dozen cars on the road. Fortunately I was in the right lane and could bypass that cluster.
  5. This. I find it difficult empathize with airline employees who are taking their work grievance issues out in a manner that would directly harm the traveling public. No wonder the pilots’ union is denying it.
  6. He had a QB rating of 120.9 this week. It helps that they finally found a running game.
  7. Interception in the end zone with second remaining, Steelers won by 8.
  8. Back from the lake with the second half to go. Steelers up 17 to 6.
  9. I knew citing fuel efficiency would amp up the conversation!
  10. I saw a Lamborghini SUV on the road yesterday. The “I have money” seemed to apply, but I didn’t get the “fancy” sense.
  11. Are we talking about the Porsche, or the Prius?
  12. 7. Always as a visual block against a neighbor’s expansion of his garage space.
  13. Broncos at Steelers. I need to go to the lake and move a boat.
  14. The more I’ve read about the car, the more amazed it’s on the road. I’ve seen it in my parking lot at work twice in the last month. This one is “new” to the owner, given the temporary plates. Ones I see for sale online often have much less than 10,000 miles.
  15. Maybe the use of “spoiler alert” wasn’t the best thread title for getting more than one car guy’s input! I’m still trying to figure out the year of this car. The model is referred to as the “modern widow maker”… probably because of the 14 mpg city rating?
  16. Yeah, they’re a large chunk of coin. And easy to put off and never think of it.
  17. Me too. Back in the days before AEDs. I wonder if the outcome would have been better if we had one immediately available.
  18. Used in conjunction. Start CPR, apply the AED, it analyses the rhythm, advises for or against shock, CPR continues.
  19. It certainly depends, but it could. Acute ischemia could induce an arrhythmia that could kill before the ambulance could come. But if that arrhythmia is corrected, a trip to the cath lab could save heart muscle and prevent death.
  20. Sounds fun. My company thinks it’s doing us a wonderful favor for just coordinating a truck to come and sell their food to us on Fridays.
  21. Do you have an AED in your home? I was re-certifying for my CPR training on Friday, and the thought struck me, we should have an AED in our home. Neither my wife nor I have a cardiac history, but we both know CPR, so why wait until it’s too late to get one? Not a trivial expense, but probably a smart purchase.
