    My wife had me add a window AC unit to our bedroom, even though we have central air. I don’t need it to be 71 degrees in the bedroom in order to be able to sleep. She does. Setting our thermostat any lower would probably result in frozen pipes in the basement!

    Is that the schedule in Canada now? I know the UK was spacing out the AZ shots to 12 weeks originally to get more people the first shot, but they’ve since shorten that to 6 weeks.

    Mixing Covid vaccine types? I have to admit not knowing much about the Astra-Zeneca/Oxford vaccine, primarily because it’s not approved in the US. But what benefit is there of starting with AZ and then switching to Pfizer or Moderna for injection #2? Or are there there inadequate supplies of the mRNA vaccines to use one of them for both injections?

    To get to the automated car wash. I don’t know why he needed to get to the car wash, but I saw it with my own eyes. We’re over run with wild turkeys 🦃 in two neighborhoods on my way to work. Sometimes they spill out onto the street and beyond. Surprisingly I don’t see many flattened by the roadside.

    I reserved a car for a December vacation. 3X more expensive than last year (when there was zero demand), 30% higher than two years ago during “normal” conditions. I am hoping that rental car inventory will increase this summer and my cost will drop, but only time will tell.

    If you want a laugh, price a rental car these days. In Hawaii, people are renting U-Hauls for a week at $29 a day and saving a ton (and actually getting a rental). Lots of rental companies sold off big fleets of cars during Covid.

    That’s not really the league anymore. CTE (and former fighter’s suicides) have curtailed it a lot. Not eliminated, and hits to the head still happen, but it’s down, a lot.
