  1. Because the safety aspect of the Phase II studies isn’t yet complete? They think they have shown efficacy but haven’t yet followed them long enough to complete the assessments of side effects. I was thinking availability would be mid-first quarter 2021 for highest risk people/medical/first responders, and then later in the spring for wider distribution? So maybe in the fall 2021 for Noobs?
  2. As it should be. Noobs are bottom of the list, after all.
  3. The Modena one only needs refrigeration for moderate length storage, and freezer for long-term storage. And other vaccines require a series to be given for efficiency, so I don’t see these as deal-breakers.
  4. Although further West it looks like deaths are picking up. “In El Paso, there have been so many coronavirus deaths in recent days that the county medical examiner parked five mobile morgue units — the size of trucks — outside its doors. Legacy Mortuary Service, a company that transports bodies from hospitals to funeral homes, is busier than ever, carrying 40 to 50 bodies.”
  5. Here’s a snapshot of PA. I had a dream last night where I was walking through a crowd of mostly unmasked people, which made me angry. The only good thing is the deaths are down. Some combination of 1) we know better how to treat it, 2) it’s mutated into a less virulent form (I know it’s mutated, I just don’t know who mutations are affecting the virus and 3) a lot more younger people are getting ill. Although there are plenty of 30-somethings dying to make people think twice about being so careless in their approach.
  6. If I had the option of Hawaii with a five hour flight or Florida with a four hour flight, I’d go to Hawaii every time. The difference in experience is incomparable. I would think that’s why Vancouver residents don’t target Florida. Florida after Thanksgiving isn’t oppressively hot or humid. I wouldn’t want to summer there, but these are snowbirds we are talking about, right?
  7. Just when I was going to voice displeasure that I’m not lucky enough to get the benefits of the Cares Act, you throw in this kicker.
  8. The “how do you pronounce Salmon” thread. It’s something I feel we will reference often and will aid in our understanding of our fellow forum members in the months to come.
  9. Good. Put all my patio furniture under tarps this weekend. At some point soon our canvas awning will be taken down in anticipation of the snow. All the leaves that have fallen this far have been blown to the curb for pickup.
  10. I can take mine off when I am alone in my office, so probably two hours in the afternoon following lunch. You’re right, I don’t get an N95, just a surgical-style mask. But I’ve never heard anyone complain about a particular type of mask, the complaints are just “I can’t wear a mask”.* * If one’s job entails a significant amount of physical exertion, I can understand and be empathetic that mask wearing could be impeding. But again, these aren’t the complaints I have heard, it’s more general bitching about mask use in general public interactions.
  11. I wear one for 4 hours at a time, eat some lunch and do it again. It’s not difficult. I have little patience for people who claim they “can’t” wear a mask.
  12. It was sloped downwards to favor the Ravens.
  13. Is there supposed to be a video occupying this space???
  14. I always thought of @Parr8hed as having special needs for an Ironman, including bacon and bourbon.
  15. I am a fan of Specialized road frames. I have a Tarmac SL. That is my $0.02.
  16. Josie's the pride of the neighborhood. She's the raw flame, the live wire.
  17. I wouldn't pick against the Chiefs at this point in the season, unless the spread got ridiculous. But then again, I don't bet.
  18. I found myself rooting for Brady and TB over Rogers and GB. I was surprised by that emotion, but it was real.
  19. I don't know their rationale for where they drew the line. It may be arbitrary, it may be reasoned, I don't know. But I believe strongly that more people are harmed by meth and heroin than mushrooms, and I believe the Oregon law does address the former as well. And I don't believe that Joe Citizen is going to go out on start using meth or heroin just because laws criminalizing them have changed.
  20. I’m 90% video, 10% camera off when I work from home. I actually prefer working from the office.
  21. I’m going to argue that those who are prone to use them already are. They’ll just have less risk of being robbed when buying them, and be more sure of the quality/safety. I also think the only people discouraged from buying drugs due to current laws are middle aged, middle class folks who can’t afford to risk a citation or arrest for buying pot due to their occupation. Teens and 20-somethings use fairly commonly, and older folks get their medical cards if they want it. I couldn’t risk buying anything due to career implications. Decriminalized status helps me not at all, even if I wanted to just stay in on a Friday night and cause no one any harm.
