  1. We’re still experiencing 30,000 new cases a day and 2500 deaths a day, with restrictions in many places. So while I find it difficult to consider lifting restrictions in the next two-four weeks to watch where those numbers go, I am curious as to how much higher you’d tolerate.
  2. Florida has reopened their beaches, yet “more Florida residents were diagnosed Friday than in any time during the past two weeks. The state Department of Health on Friday reported 1,413 new cases of covid-19, the highest number since 1,330 people tested positive on April 3.”
  3. At the same time there was a panic about liquor stores being closed in our state (and the declaration of beer stores being open as “essential businesses” to prevent withdrawal), there was a run on opioid detox/rehab, with addicts being proactive to address their concerns about access to drugs during the “stay home” demands.
  4. There’s a BBQ joint on my way home from work. Opposite side of a busy 4 lane road from the way I travel.
  5. I believe they are now announcing ice cream shortages related to the Covid crisis, with Baskin Robins apparently out of “Liberty” flavor.
  6. Testing limits is a big concern, but importantly what is also leveling, at least in my state, is hospital care. We’re currently under 40% census capacity for our ICUs and have 70% of our ventilators unused currently.
  7. And ham pairs so much better with bacon than pineapple. We’ve been doing cauliflower crust pizza for a couple of years now, but have cheated a few times during this pandemic. It’s good to relax now and again.
  8. I’ve been doing takeout from a local restaurant about once a week, and buying beer from my favorite local brewpub more often than I care to admit. Tipping as if I was dining in. I feel fortunate to be working through all of this.
  9. Some people here are pissed that Western Pennsylvania is on the same schedule as Philadelphia. I imagine the sentiment is worse in some of the more rural counties of the state, too. Which is why I think a strong federal plan would have been a VERY good thing to have, because if Ohio and WVA do something completely different, will it ultimately matter what happens just across state lines?
  10. I didn’t think they would extend it that long, so soon. They tend to tell you of changes just a few days in advance.
  11. I’d don’t sniff the coke, I only smoke the sinsemilla.
  12. So did we. I was a bit surprised, to be honest.
  13. As of Sunday it will be mandatory for anything other than food and medicine purchase. Which makes me wonder why wait until Sunday?
  14. Which means it’s more than one person. I saw a woman walking around her yard in a bathrobe one afternoon last week. The dudette abides.
  15. That’s just monkey logic.

I’m working from work. 45 days-ish in a row now. I get Saturday and Sunday off for the first time since February. I’m tired. My boss has stayed at home for the past two weeks. I get my crack at that on Tuesday. Looking forward to it.
  18. We’ve been recommended to for a week or more. Not sure if it’s mandatory or not.
  19. I don’t understand the progression from “recommended” to mandatory. By now we should know that most steps will be opposed by some, and it’s slowed the implementation of necessary measures to this point, and cost lives. if the recommendation is to wear a mask in public, mandate it from the start.
