  1. As a result, most people mistook it for a .45 and thought Quentin screwed up the line. He’s too obsessive to screw up a line.
  2. I’ve found the stores to be fairly empty of people and stocked with all the things I need. It’s actually been easier shopping over the past two weeks, tbh. Amazon, who usually delivers my paper towels, toilet paper and cat food/litter, has not been so wonderful.
  3. It’s 12% in Italy, 9% in Spain. So I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to think it could hit 10% IF we didn’t do a lock-down. NY is at 3% even with social distancing efforts. I agree it’s not the plague where everyone exposed will likely die, but again I don’t see the response as hysterical, even if it “just” saved 20,000 lives.
  4. I don’t understand what is being considered over reaction or hysteria. We’re all staying at home, venturing out only for food, essential activities, and for some of us work. Is this an over reaction in some people’s minds? There are “only” 552 cases in my county, and only three deaths, but I don’t think the stay at home order is unreasonable, because I think without interventions all of that would be turned in it’s head. To me, 10% death rate is if we pretended everything was normal, we all went about our business, and whoever caught it ended up as nature intended. But if fewer people get sick at once, the death rate can be kept closer to 2%. Seems like a worthwhile goal?
  5. It’s also been said that the US Federal reserves of PPE and medical equipment isn’t for the States to access, but instead for “us”. Our “leader” isn’t particularly nuanced in his approach to diplomacy, both domestic and international.
  6. Estimates are that 50-80% of people going on ventilators are dying, anyway. So being inside the building may be a worse omen than the parking lot, where your chances are better (as you’ve not already been deemed critically ill).
  7. I was as close as Pictou, but never heard of Oak Island. 🤔 What’s the claim of the curse?
  8. At work I go through a lot of Purrell. At home the only difference is I’ll wash after handling the mail or putting groceries away.
  9. I wore a flu mask to the grocery store today. Our governor has recommended everyone wear them when out of the house. I saw one N95, a couple of home made, and some others wearing none. So mixed bag. But store was pretty empty, everyone gave a lot of distance, and I am home. Safe for now.
  10. My boss suggested today if working two weeks at work, double shift, then two weeks from home. I volunteered for the first two weeks at work. Hopefully this will be winding down as I work from home in late April.
  11. I saw the thank you card section at the store today and thought of our frog.
  12. Went grocery shopping today. Wore a mask as per my Governor’s recommendation. A few other shoppers in masks, but store generally pretty empty. Chatted with @Airehead as I passed a large Ramen stock, thought of all of you peeps.
  13. I’ve worked every day starting 3/2, I never know what day of the week it is. The only difference is who’s also at the office when I get there.
  14. No, you can access your 401(k) from your current job (and anything you rolled over into it from previous jobs) without penalty, if you quit/retire after age 55. So IF your accounts rebound in time, that could be in play within your timeline.
  15. @Razors Edge is more concerned with quantity of porn, not quality.
  16. Have you looked at your 401(k) lately? Retirement looked a whole lot closer two months ago.
  17. I updated it before I went to Japan two years ago. So no, @donkpow isn’t in it.
  18. I dunno. I can't stand watching MSNBC either really. Both are slanted terrible No, I’m not a fan of news channels as entertainment, as the 24 hour channels are. Too much encroachment of opinion on news.
  19. They have refrigerator trucks at the morgues in NYC.
  20. Not sure why Hannity wasn’t fired for saying much of the same things.
  21. Best: we’d get Christmas presents at random times of the year because my grandmother would misplace them and not find them all at once, or at all at Christmas time. Worst: She’d never serve dinner before about 9 pm because her time management skills were so poor, what had planned to be a 7 pm meal never was. A lot of hungry evenings and late nights.
  22. It was said not infrequently in February. I believe Trish Regan list her job on Fox for saying it and other fake claims.
