  1. Well, work and kids are the two variables in play.
  2. Alternatively, thyroid dysfunction could cause a host of related ailments (wt gain, blood pressure, diabetes...). Personally, I’d start by normalizing my thyroid functions, while improving my diet.
  3. For 2.5-10 years. Then my goal will be to never be cold again!
  4. Rereading the OP, it appears the woman has a host of health issues, not just thyroid? If so, the diet modification makes more sense, but still probably won’t address a significant issue of thyroid dysfunction.
  5. I’m so relaxed, I can’t sleep! *I did check work email this morning for the first time since departing.
  6. The same part you would eschew as being “CRAY CRAY”? I don’t think it’s unreasonable to examine the foods we eat (and the chemicals associated with them) and our environment when considering overall health. Especially when looking at diseases involving inflammatory processes. But I do (significantly) question if her thyroid function will be corrected by eating only organic meats, vegetables, fruits, and nuts. So it must be the $400 retreat?
  7. I had interpreted that her friend hadn’t tried traditional western medical approaches first before turning to the alternative. That the alternative was her preference as first line intervention.
  8. I’m trying to figure out your logic that it’s not an over-reaction to ban e-cigarettes (while permitting to ongoing sales of traditional cigarettes). Now, if Massachusetts wanted to ban all inhaled nicotine products, there would be greater consistency (but probably another revolution?).
  9. So you’re coming down on the side that vaping is more stupid harmful than cigarettes? Because as far as I know Massachusetts still permits their sales.
  10. Right? He never even acknowledged that he was eating big Kahuna burgers with me on Book of Faces.
  11. I roast them in the oven. Tasty.
  12. We’re all enslaved by the need to work in order to have medical insurance, a roof, gas, electric and food needs met. With children, everything becomes exponentially more expensive.
  13. I wonder if they mean she has thyroiditis, which initially causes hyperthyroidism, but then hypothyroidism, eventually (but not both, simultaneously)? But I don’t think organic foods or a health retreat are going to correct that, but I am not a naturopath. “Initially, inflammation of the thyroid causes a leak resulting in excess thyroid hormones (hyperthyroidism). Over time, the inflammation prevents the thyroid from producing enough hormones (hypothyroidism).“
  14. So is this the source of the baby yoda meme? I hadn’t known why this was a “thing” recently.
  15. Wireless Beats are the way to go!
  16. ...is pretty good (as a kitchen accessory). But I’m gonna wait for a couple more lessons before I drop for another plectrum.
  17. Are those 45 rpm records she is loading? I miss the larger capacity CD changers in cars. I once had a 10 disc capacity, then with a new in 2008 car it shrank to 4, and my current car has a single CD player. As a result, I have a couple of CDs in the car, but listen to a lot of FM and SiriusXM radio. I never had an extensive vinyl collection, as CDs came out around the time I entered high school.
  18. 3:25 am here. I slept better than my usual 2:30 am wake-up. My jet-lag won’t resolve until the night before my return home.
  19. With the bigger breasted chicken meals, they may need to double bag.
  20. If you smoke weed laced with PCP What? We’re going to get on a moral high horse about smoking a little Love Boat now? Where does it end?!?
