I don't view that as a good thing. We are sucking ass at settling newcomers and destroying the housing market by flooding it with offshore investors, making it impossible for anyone to own a home. Time to take an immigration break and maybe even do as Ford has suggested and decline foreign students until things catch up. We are short 5 million homes nationwide and are bringing in a minimum of 500,000 immigrants annually. That does not include students and refugees. We have actually brought in 1 million total in the past 9 months. Then boy blunder makes a media announcement that they plan to add 500,000 homes over the next ten years. In the same time, the housing shortage will have exceeded 10 million homes. I am happy you are finding solace in other languages and colours but it is destroying the country. Sheltered transit benches in Toronto are now occupied by homeless and encampments are in nearly every public space. The foreign voices spell tragedy to me.
