  1. I worry about you using tweezers and a much better way is to use something made for the job which works without the risk of leaving the head embedded. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Simply-Natural-Removal-Reusable-Indestructible/dp/B07TWRX839/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?adgrpid=52583332949&gclid=CjwKCAjw7O_pBRA3EiwA_lmtfm16vkboyxsRL9dGT3scSrN3h2qC8y954iKhr4wcNHNVPaMLOj5VpBoCf-0QAvD_BwE&hvadid=259038971493&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=9073606&hvnetw=g&hvpos=1t1&hvqmt=e&hvrand=6334114353671246197&hvtargid=kwd-300352507390&hydadcr=28152_1724844&keywords=tick+removal+tool&qid=1564247972&s=gateway&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExQURGRzkyRTlKSURGJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMjgyODk0MkIyMzZGOUhTQ0dUTSZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwMzA2NzczMkhPMDlBMkVZU1NZOSZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=
  2. Growing up during and after the war I saw little meat, and as a result for years afterwards I thought all meals were incomplete if they didn't feature some sort of meat. It's very different now and I enjoy a varied diet and am particularly fond of all kinds of seafood. I've just spent a week on holiday with my daughter at a little fishing town in the Scottish Borders. It had a working harbour and every eating place featured fresh fish and seafood. There was a touching memorial on the sea front to the hundred and eighty-nine fisherman that drowned in full view of their women-folk during a storm in 1881. On our way home we stopped for lunch at an Albert Roux restaurant in the Greywalls Hotel.....glorious food in what was a golfing shrine.
  3. I don't comment on these atrocities any more. I became tired of feeling angry and contemptuous of the great American public for putting up with this crap... and I don't like to feel that way about people.
  4. That looks sweet......but I don't think I would ever have managed to keep it afloat around the west coast of Scotland.....too much work.
  5. Ah........mine was a two man Klepper boat.....a wonderful thing.
  6. I like small.....always have. When I was a kid my dream was to live in one of those traditional Gypsy caravans, the wooden painted ones which were drawn by a horse, and in which you can sit in the middle with everything within reach. Now I live in a tiny space which needs little cleaning and I can find my way around blindfolded.....but it's cosy and comfortable and easy to heat. Perfect for someone decrepit like myself.
  7. This looks great but I'm struck by how different it is to the camping I did in the day. Mine consisted in a Sea Kayak and a lightweight two man tent. On the west coast of Scotland we could be marooned for up to four days by storms on some desolate shore..... and I would cook bacon and eggs while still in my sleeping bag. When we finally emerged from the tent we smelled like goats.....the type of goats that other goats avoid.

    Fathers

Very sorry to hear that. I've just spent a week away with my daughter in a small fishing village in the Scottish Borders. At my age and state of health I thought it best to try and spend some time together .......it seemed a sensible thing to do.
  9. Yes.....I'm afraid that your memory is faulty as there was no such scene. I loved the film.......her total trust in him was very touching.
  10. Absolutely right...and I feel it my duty to give women advice at every available opportunity. This extends from pedalling cadence, seat-post height, gear changing....and my personal favourite......advising on the need for a suitable sports bra. I'm convinced that any advice I give is appreciated, and there's many a time I've wished I was wearing my hearing aids in order to hear what they were saying. I mean they do shout to make me hear but it's all to no avail....which is a pity really.
  11. This is a much better way to remove ticks than the tweezers. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Simply-Natural-Removal-Reusable-Indestructible/dp/B07TWRX839/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?adgrpid=52583332949&gclid=CjwKCAjw7O_pBRA3EiwA_lmtfm16vkboyxsRL9dGT3scSrN3h2qC8y954iKhr4wcNHNVPaMLOj5VpBoCf-0QAvD_BwE&hvadid=259038971493&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=9073606&hvnetw=g&hvpos=1t1&hvqmt=e&hvrand=6334114353671246197&hvtargid=kwd-300352507390&hydadcr=28152_1724844&keywords=tick+removal+tool&qid=1564247972&s=gateway&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExQURGRzkyRTlKSURGJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMjgyODk0MkIyMzZGOUhTQ0dUTSZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwMzA2NzczMkhPMDlBMkVZU1NZOSZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=
  12. What in God's name is up with you? Why all the horrible war machines? Why not old puffer trains and Penny Farthings and feel good things for heaven's sake?
  13. Be aware that you continue to have my support........unless the majority choose to damn you of course.
  14. Ah...... that's tough and UTI's always have this risk if you don't catch them fast enough. Stick in there and good luck.
  15. As your best friend and supporter I say.......don't listen to these detractors who make these cruel remarks about the size of your enormous Baheekie. These people would probably give their right arm to have buttocks the size of yours.....dear me yes. I intend to point out to them that there is an inherent grandeur in the scale of an edifice such as your backside.......it is the Taj Mahal of its kind and should only be spoken of in hushed whispers.
  16. You have no idea how I appreciate this......I'm pretty sure he will think of a way to pay you back.
  17. I would ask you to please tread lightly here. On this forum there is a person I will not name (but it's 3alarmer) who has been recently fat-shamed due to the size of his enormous Baheeky. As his friend and mentor, I ask that his utter and complete humiliation.....which was well-deserved by the way.....is not made worse by some unfeeling comment in this thread. That man has suffered enough....dear me yes.
  18. Now listen......I'm your friend and I feel your pain.....but this happens to all of us fine figures of men eventually so keep your pecker up. On second thoughts I'm not sure that this advice goes with latex shorts.........shades of Rockingham teapots and all that.
  19. Sorry.......I felt guilty for years when my dog died without me being there.

    Sausage

I do have a weakness for sausages.....and that is despite all the horror stories you hear. My favourites at the moment are "Cumberland" and these are very tasty both hot and cold.
  21. WOW! That's £104......outrageous.......my fibre broadband plus free calls costs £29 a month and my download speed is around 68Mbs.
  22. Oh bugger......that is so depressingly true......that is just how it works. Stop doing this.
  23. Yeah.........what with that and the hairy feet.
  24. I'm sure this is true........but you know you were cheating.....right?
  25. I used to own a Morris Minor....it was dove grey with red leather seats and I loved it to bits.
