To be fair I did ride a hilly course yesterday and it was the first for some time. I just wanted to check that I could once again breathe normally (first time for three years) and that was great. Now if I can just get this broken bone in my spine fixed I can work on my fitness for the Spring.

Alas no, I have tried, but along with other efforts of mine to make things a little bit larger, it was an abject failure. I now take all of these kind of adverts with a pinch of salt. P&R is the Politics and Religion sub-forum of Bike Forums, and a place frequented by all sorts of misfits, conspiracy theorists and refugees from forums which have higher standards. If you value your mental health and have family responsibilities, then you should keep well clear.

While I am in awe of your chutzpah in setting yourself up as a sage and suspect that your lower extremities must be of awesome proportions, it must be clear to even one of your limited intellect that such hubris can only result in a fall of biblical proportions. Is there no-one at home who could restrain you when these bouts of madness overcome you? Is there no red-cheeked spouse there to undo your overalls, remove the corn jug and apply a cold compress to your overheated forehead? If you reply in the negative I'm going to feel really, really bad.

That's a rotten thing to say and I refuse to believe it. That they regard the raping of nuns as a minor offence or that they appear to commit horrible crimes against the French language, now these things I'm prepared to believe. However your charge that they put gravy and cheese curds on their fries is absolutely unthinkable.....you should be ashamed.

I do wish that you hadn't mentioned that. Peeing is one of the things I have problems with and I need a great deal of notice if I'm to be successful. You really are a sensitive soul ......are you a career Diplomat by any chance?

I'm touched...really touched by the welcome. May God set a flower on all your heads. It's comforting to find at least two old friends here. Some may say but they are disreputable chaps and that they are untrustworthy and shallow, and that they refuse to change their underwear unless threatened with violence......all this is true but I find that this is easily forgiven as long as they continue with their unashamed flattery. I'm an old person as has been said, and all my original parts are in a sad state of repair with each week bringing some new horror, but then the whole point of my joining this forum is to complain and moan to those unfortunate enough not to yet have me on ignore. I have to say that I was surprised and disappointed to find the P&R sub-forum quite moribund. I'd like to think that this was a temporary thing as sneering and looking down on people for their political views is about the only pleasure I have these days.
