  1. Even though there was only about 12 years between them.
  2. Didn't work out so well for this guy.
  3. Always appreciated by the wildlife.
  4. Funny story from a long distant former life. My first wife and I took in foster children for several years. One day, she was peeling carrots by running a vegetable peeler down the length of them to the point. The 5 year old foster child we were housing at the time watched her intently for a while before finally asking, "why do you always sharpen the carrots?"

  6. I wonder where the Guatemalan insanity pepper would fit on that scale.

    What if...

Or to let the smell out.
  8. Not just the huge cars that are in short supply. The little ones are scarce too.
  9. Definitely worth the outlay. Nice even heat. The infrared rotisserie burner works great. Never had a grill this nice before. Will probably get more use out of it in the next couple of months as we can do more entertaining.
  10. Over my 40 plus year trucking career I was in more refineries and chemical plants than I could count. I spent 10 of those years working out of an oil re refinery, hauling used oil in and re refined oil out. Often times, our backhauls were out of other refineries to pick up additives or base stock. Those places are serious about the safety rules.
  11. I know exactly where that is. I couldn't count the number of times I drove by it.
  12. I live right on the Lancaster flight path so we get to hear four at a time quite frequently. I expect to see and hear lots of overhead traffic this weekend

  14. Happy birthday Sheep herder.
  15. My close encounter with lightning was when my truck was struck with me in it. I had just parked for the night in Lake Station Indiana and had just pulled the curtains to crawl into bed when there was a horrendous crash and the interior of the truck was lit up, even through the closed curtain. Every ECM in the truck was fried, and I had to be towed home.
  16. Sorry to hear Jerry. Hope all turns out well.
  17. Oatmeal is our usual Sunday breakfast. Nothing fancy just lightly toasted before cooking in water, two to one until mushy and eaten with brown sugar and table cream.

    CABOTAGE!

Gahh, I fell into a parody trap, did I? Oh well, never too late for a smartass reply.

    CABOTAGE!

Actually, I have heard of it. As a Canadian based trucker, illegal movement of goods point to point in the US was defined by the term. Even moving an empty trailer from one point to another falls under cabotage rules. The only way moving an empty trailer point to point is allowed is if it was either live unloaded at the beginning point ( load originating in Canada) or live loaded at the end point with a load destined directly to Canada. This was a bit of a logistical nightmare as a lot of the major customers had a bunch of our trailers in the yard and many moves were drop and hook, so if you were doing a drop and hook on the home bound, it had to be live unload on the outbound.

    Wow!

Okay lame excuse to follow. We are camping in one of our fabulous Provincial parks and the bike I brought is not equipped with a computer. not that I would have had much to contribute anyway, maybe a mile or two riding around the park.
