    Our last day there, we looked out the window to see seven deer crossing the lake.

    Looking out the cottage widow onto the frozen lake. Exhuming the car from a snowy grave. Walking in a winter wonderland

    Minus 35 degrees, huge snowfall, and it was grand. All warm and cozy in the cottage with family for Christmas. Read two novels, ate too much food, drank some beer, and had a marvelous time. Returned home to find we had a major snowfall here while we were gone. We look after each other in this neighborhood though, and the driveway and sidewalk had all been cleared. Pictures to follow.

    Prior to WW1, Kitchener was the city of Berlin. In a mad scramble to rename it in an attempt to disassociate it from it's German roots, they changed it in Honor of Lord Kitchener almost immediately after his death.

    I never thought to look up my boyhood home on Google Maps before, but here it is, the house I grew up in. Probably about a 20 minute drive from the location that @shootingstar posted. My mom still lives there.
