  1. I like it. It's simple to implement and referee. It will probably result in a lot of starts from the 30-35 yard lines. Slightly closer to the end zone, but offense is good. There will be almost no starts from the 5 yard line. Most teams will just line drive out of the endzone, hang time is moot. And the onsides kick is dead. Best part, kick returners will live into their 30s, The tougher rule changes is outlawing hip drop tackles. They cause serious injuries at 25x the rate of any other tackle. This will be hard to officiate
  2. After all that, you must be pretty sore.
  3. Cream Cheese on crackers topped with pepper Jelly is awesome Whip it with powdered sugar for topping cakes or sweetbreads.
  4. me neither. No sense dirtying a knife when it's soft enough that teeth will do
  5. Just sos you know, we're in the "rising growth/falling inflation" cycle. While the election itself doesn't impact markets, I could tell you which candidate will continue this cycle and which one will make a complete mess of it, but SW won't like it
  6. Hit the old gym this morning for swimming. It doesn't close til Monday. Lunchtime, since I'm now a member, hit the new gym for some lifting. Had to go to the mens room at work, so I cut through the gym. Stopped for a couple shoulder PT reps.
  7. Hope it's not the Norovirus.
  8. Yeah, I'm hearing a lot of things that people are hearing...... I'd wager that ANY suspension bridge in the world is going down if a 100,000 ton cargo ship rams it's support dead on.
  9. I would love a large greenhouse to do that! There's an estate around the corner from us that just went up for sale. The greenhouse is around 750 Sq ft. With plumbing, heat, an attached shed. That place might be the only one I'd consider selling my house for.
  10. That's art. I have some of Dad's, but it's not the complete set.
  11. Ya know, you could have just said it tastes like ass.
  12. They have the right to be sunk by 50,000 ton cargo ships headed their way.
  13. "more intelligent" as in higher quantity, or as in a higher level? I'm guessing level, as higher quantity would assume a minimum of one already
  14. So, nothing on this scale, but the same difficulty in changing momentum on cargo ships. MANY years ago, in my dad's crappy boat on the Delaware, first trip of the year. It was a water/water cooling system, a hose on the fresh side split and dumped all the coolant. Dead in the water. Tide going out, so it pulls boats into the channel. And there's a cargo ship bearing down on us. My brother grabbed the paddle, but couldn't really make any progress. I managed to cut of the split and reconnect the hose, put my T shirt over the filler neck for a filter, used dad's hat to dump river water into the radiator. We were just about at the abandon ship call, the cargo ship was blowing a horn by then when I had filled just enough water to get the engine started back up and get out of there. I'm sure that pilot thought he was drowning a few people that day.
  15. They didn't need this example. They tried to blow up a Hudson river tunnel a few years back. HSA stopped them. It actually got down tot he wire and they had to close the tunnels Who know how many more they've caught. Terrorists talk, we hear things. power just goes out, no warning
  16. We referred to those as "scum bags" Probably the only thing I don't still have. I have 3 generations of tools laying around
  17. Certainly this had to happen before future terrorists could realize the chaos. Actually, a terrorist attack like this would be far easier to thwart than the power going out accidentally
  18. Dude can PLAY. Up there with Roy Clarke and Bela Fleck, at least.
  19. I saw a longer video. while there were a few cars on the bridge when it went down, it seemed like quite a few less than just moments prior. I don't know if that was intentional or just fortuitous.
  20. Not just the ships and the channel: The I95 and I895 tunnels do not allow hazmats, not even propane tanks on RVs. They must all use the Key bridge. Now, they'll have to route through town. Most trucks serving the port also use the Key bridge.
  21. A river pilot would still be at the helm there, the ship's pilot would just be watching. Tugs are only for docking. Once the prop went dead, the only extra knowledge a river pilot had was the name of the bridge they were about to hit
  22. yeah, I guess too soon. I do deal with things differently. The workers were my first thought. People driving were just driving, hey, cool a ship. But the workers saw it coming, but there was absolutely noting they could do. There might be a possibility to survive that jump, only to freeze in the water. The pilot saw it coming too, knowing that with no prop, there's basically no steering, thrusters are useless when under way, he knew people were about to die. Notice how those bridge supports had no buffers. There are a couple pilings, but so far from the supports that the ship passed them and still blew into the supports.
  23. And once you DO get the cat in a bag, do you know if it's dead or alive?
  24. Put the bag at one end of the room. Herd the cats into the bag.
