  1. This. Quite a few of them who were against a ban have now voted for it. Not trusting the US government over the Chinese (or Russian) government is exactly the point. Distrust in the US government is at an all time low, in large part due to Chinese and Russian disinformation campaigns. Same with anti vax, contrails, etc. They want us in disarray. Yes, Google can mess with us. But we've seen the difference in what the Chinese government is trying to achieve and what Google is trying to achieve. China wants to destroy us. Google just want to smell the; flowers. BTW, it's not being banned. Just disconnected from Chinese government control and access
  2. I had a car that was black below the water line, silver above. That thing was camoflauged in the rain
  3. I think only one of my Beetles was white, but that was always in pieces until it turned gray primer I had a White 80 Chevy diesel pickup. I am not proud of that The first conversion van was white. Our first real "splurge" on a vehicle, went all out for the 5K mile low top "demo" van with CLOTH upholstery!!
  4. My neighbor thinks there are sparrows nesting in my bat box

THE (&^%&$&^* WEEDS IN MY GARDEN!!!!!!!!!
  6. garden work this weekend included weeding the Iris garden, splitting some of them to replant or give away. I did not have any devices with me. There was no discussion about the effort near any device My news feed is now full of tips about growing Iris.
  7. i tend to solve this kind of problem with the second law of physics and a big hammer
  8. The will says the house as an asset is divided equally. If one wants it, they buy out the others.
  9. 1800 sq. ft, 4 BR. My wife says it's too big. But the extra BRs get use. When we don't have people living or staying over in them, they are music rooms, sewing rooms, yoga rooms.... This was our first house, bought as newlyweds when it was 1100 sq. ft. We have done all of the adding, renovating, improving ourselves. There's a LOT of blood and sweat and memories here. The gardens have been growing for decades. We're NOT moving. I would actually be happy to know that someday one of the kids takes it over.
  10. so anyways, the real reason..... The whole crucifiction chain of events is inextricably tied to Passover. It just doesn't happen that way without the Passover meal, who is allowed to kill whom when, stuff like that. Passover is the first full moon in the month of Nissan. ( they used to do it the first full moon of Datsun). In 325, the Catholic church was asserting itself about "We're not Jews, stop saying that!", so they decided on the first full moon of spring.. Sometimes those moons are the same, so it all lines up, and the Easter bunny has to make sure people know he's a bunny, not a lamb. That could be disastrous. side note: the change in the Easter date was at a time when Constantine ruled, the Church was quite accepted, there was no need anymore to hide behind pagan celebrations by then.
  11. Easter IS on the same day every year. It's the calendar that's off
  12. Hmmmm....... Our Aussie is in her 12th year. This would be about the time. Not sure I want to do it yet, though. We have a 3 week vacation that wouldn't work with a pup and an old dog. Not enough space in the truck
  13. We have quite a few nice furnishings acquired on bulk day. You have to get out early for the good stuff. Sometimes we'll grab a piece that we can't use, but someone will. I have a couple nice antiques that only needed an hour or two of repair. I do try to put my bulk stuff out early if I think it has value to scrappers or scavengers.
  14. It's hard to remember to do those things with a concussion.
  15. Actually, the reminder was to BUY SEEDS. They didn't have them at HD. Fortunately I had a bunch from last year, I should get enough to germinate.
  16. There are a few folks who hang out at the Aldi sometimes and offer to return carts. They quite obviously can use the quarters. so we let them. And occasionally drop a few extra $$
  17. And yet AI DIDN'T tell me that I forgot to seed my Beefsteaks! I just noticed on Wednesday!!!
  18. right. PALMA. Not La Palma. I'm counting on OTHER people to mix that up and save me hotel space. I am expecting it to be crazy crowded. But I saw the last eclipse with about150,000 friends, that was fun
  19. La Palma. From there, you get a sunset eclipse over the Mediterranean Sea. Looks like there's plenty of cool stuff on that island. We'll probably only go for about 5 days. Extra days in case they have to move the eclipse to the rain date Now don't go telling everyone, there are not unlimited hotels there
  20. I've only made it to 5 countries so far. Although, when I go to another country and have this discussion, I list Ohio and Texas as "other countries". We are seriously thinking of going to Spain for the 2026 eclipse. We have an invitation to Scotland to visit future SiL's family. There's talk of a Phillipines trip to see kid in laws' families. I need to retire so we have time.
  21. That surgeon did a great job. Doesn't look like a bottle tear at all
  22. great, thanks for asking!
  23. I can't think of any Karens I know that fit the stereotype.
