  1. And Ron Goldman…. I wish the media focus would be more on those two and not so much on OJ the celebrity. OJ is a murderous POS that can rot in hell for all I care.
  2. Just tell the funny ones. I have kept many things locked away for decades. No need to relive them.
  3. No haven’t grown them but WOChrisL prefers the smaller cucumbers to the bigger ones. Those are all she buys now. They taste the same to me so no big difference.
  4. Maybe my experiences in The Old Guard or some of my Hollywood stories. I also spent several weeks working a Personal Protection Detail for Rabi Marvin Hier https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marvin_Hier One of the most enlightened persons I have ever met. I cherished our morning & evening walks as I learned so much from him. I was working his security at a community forum and sacrificed my body to ensure his safe escape. Part of the job but it was really a no brainer I respected the man so much and would rather I take the impact than him.
  5. Some engines are known to burn oil as they age. Not sure about Honda but it’s pretty common with Subaru. Maybe see if your particular engine is known to burn oil.
  6. Not much is manufactured in CA anymore. Most of industry has moved out of state or country due to less restrictive EPA regs. We used to heavily manufacture in defense & aerospace out here back in the day. My city had an aerospace refueling manufacturing plant, I worked there for several years but alas the site homes now.
  7. Never, I just fall in line behind the last person.
  8. I believe this is more of a baseball thing than softball. My daughter was an outfielder but I recall our pitchers going two games in a day during tournaments and pitching several times a week. My son was on strict pitch counts & innings restrictions as he came up through LL, Pony & HS ball. As @Parr8hed noted communication is key, especially when they play for multiple teams as both coaches may want a player to pitch in a given week which isn’t likely to happen in baseball.
  9. WoChrisL bought me a giant bottle of shampoo and after a year or so figured i surely needed more so bought another. 2-3 years in and im still on that first giant bottle. She forgets that I don’t have much hair so don’t need a lot of shampoo…
  10. This thread reminds me of a fight my brother & SIL got into over toilet seats years ago. I may have posted about it here or on the LF. She gave him crap once about putting the seat down and he drew a line in the sand and wouldn’t budge. Basically he said he puts the seat up for her, he forgets so it’s her problem not his. Check the seat before you sit, if it’s up that’s on you. It’s not a universal law that men must return the seat to the down position. Just like women don’t raise the seat after they go for men. Pretty funny actually but that’s not a hill I’d choose to die on…
  11. I don’t remember my mom ever wearing heels either. My parents did go out to parties & usually dressed nicely but I can’t picture my mom in heels. Usually flats of some sort. I can still see my dad in those god awful patent leather white disco shoes. He thought they were cool.
  12. Hope it’s not a severe case. It knocked me on my ass last week and I’m still dragging ass with little energy.
  13. I can see wheel issues for hub drive systems but are you seeing wheel issues with mid drive as well?
  14. My Aussie drank out of the toilet all the time. She always had fresh water in a bowl but she preferred the toilet…. So gross…
  15. Ultimately this but it is frustrating that they can’t get this correct… Yes via call & email.
  16. No change really in SoCal. They are huge with teens in beach communities. The other week I had an early MRI scheduled and the imaging center was near a HS in Newport Beach. I sat at a light & watched 15-20 teens blow a red light & make an illegal left turn at 20 MPH on e-bikes going to school…. I’m ready for one as a work commuter but we have other financial priorities right now.
  17. A couple of weeks ago I was reviewing my guard staffing invoices & realized that the guard vendor is billing me the wrong rate (too low) for two people. I reached out & advised of the issue to which they admitted they noticed as well & will fix. As it was their issue there will be no retro billing. OK thanks. I had been out sick and am getting caught up & noticed they still haven’t addressed the under billing… At this point do I just shut up & keep the discount or let them know again to fix their billing?
  18. When we were kids we were fishing in NorCal and stumbled upon a bunch of Gardner Snakes balled up like that. I took the tip of my rod & flicked one at my cousin! It looped around his leg but the funny thing was the other cousin was dancing around like it was on him when it was on his brother! 😂
  19. I worked traffic control for the Army Ten Miler a few times. IIRC those were in the fall & not spring. DC is a great running city, I ran the mall many times & did the DC Marathon in 95.
  20. I’ve been here, just haven’t had much to say. I also got Covid again which took me out for over a week. Mostly better now but still somewhat weak & coughing a lot still.
  21. I did know this and early in Shohei Ohtani’s career, there were numerous comparisons to The Babe. What we clearly came to see is that Ohtani is a much more accomplished pitcher and likely hitter but injuries seem to be hampering Ohtani’s pitching career so far and of course he doesn’t have the longevity yet to put up the big numbers The Babe did.
  22. Most here don’t like black licorice so like most things discussed here, if certain people don’t like something, they are universally unlikeable so I didn’t bother… I have tried the Wallaby licorice and TBH don’t care for the texture, they remind me of twizzlers which I also don’t care for. I do like black jelly beans and of course Dutch drop. Black “Red Vines” are also good but hard to come by. Call me weird or maybe just call me Dutch. We consume a vast majority of black licorice world wide.

    Drifting

In the police academy, part of pursuit training was learning how to control a skid and we worked on a giant skid pad. They oiled the snot out of it, then watered it down. The skid pad cars had bald tires which helped break traction. Yeah that was a lot of fun! One thing I remember about the pursuit school was I had never driven a car with adjustable steering wheels but the Caprice’s we used had them. Except I didn’t know that. I freaking busted up my knuckles something fierce as the handle to the take down lights would smack my knuckles. One of the instructors saw my bloody & battered knuckles & asked if I got in a fight. No sir the take down lights did that. Move the wheel dummy! Uh what!?!! Oh Jesus here… The rest of the school was much more fun now that I wasn’t killing my knuckles!
  24. Good dialogue, we just see things differently I guess.
