  1. Baked some frozen cinnamon rolls and made some coffee. Drank it out of a matching mug! Heading to the airport in about 45 minutes. Between Spring Break and Spring Training, I have a feeling it’s going to be a little nuts there!
  2. Yeah. It’s an old 6-speed with one of the best manual modes I have experienced.
  3. I have some Shokz bone induction units I like them a lot when walking and running so I’m still aware of my surroundings. I’ve used the wired earbuds that came with my iPhones and they never stay in my ears that well. I have some with an over-the-ear hook. They stayed in better but too much noise isolation for safe running. We sold Bose noise canceling at my old store. It was quite effective when I tested a pair. If I had stayed there I must have bought a pair for mowing the lawn. I could see them being a nice option to tune out the street and house noises when I want to listen to music.
  4. Wet tea shirts anyone?
  5. @ChrisL It is still a cable connection. I saw something online about an adapter to make Bluetooth work on CarPlay. It was before I bought this car so of course I can’t find it at the moment. I will need to make sure it’s compatible with the control knob system in the Mazdas.
  6. I can honestly say no regerts. I like the lower CG for handling. The 2.5 is more athletic than the 2.0 in the CX5 and I’m getting better gas mileage. I was getting 27 most of the time with the CX5. I’ve been getting around 32 with the CX30. CarPlay is a huge step forward over the old Bluetooth connection. The seats are more supportive. Plus there is just that new car feel and let’s not forget the Soul Red! Really liking it!
  7. I’m holding steady on weight, but I need to get to work on proportioning better. My torso is a bit soft. I blame the injury and slow recovery. I’ve returned to the weights the last couple weeks I plan to stay with it. Right now my fitted shirts don’t like they should.
  8. …but you can’t figure out who. There is a girl at Jersey Mike’s who has always seemed familiar but I couldn’t figure out why. It’s been cool and rainy toady so a warm sammich sounded good. We stopped at Jersey Mike’s after running some errands and ordered a large Philly to share. It finally hit me today. I leaned to WoW and said if Ralphie from Christmas Story was a girl! WOW isn’t a big fan of the movie, but even she immediately agreed. Cute girl, but that was just an odd connection.
  9. Saturday- lazy day aside from a bike ride. A Reuben does sound good… Sunday - fly to Dallas for work.
  10. Youngest daughter still lives with us. I am sympathetic to the whole concussion thing, but she seems too content being the victim instead of having a little more purpose. Mom is planning to move back to Nebraska, near my brother in the next couple months. Work itself would be better if the commute wasn’t so awful right now. Between construction that should improve things later, snowbirds and baseball fans in for spring training, it’s just a bit intense, and long at the moment. I’ll be in Dallas for work next week. At least one meetup is in the works. When I return, I’m anxious to start on Phase 2 of the pergola.
  11. I’ve been blessed with getting to hang with her and her family a few times. For no more time than it has been, I feel she’s a genuine friend.
  12. Have you met the public? I only say this sort of in jest. My daughter has dealt with Instagram fame to the point she now posts her photos after she is back home. She’s had some weird encounters with fans herself.
  13. I will have to check it out when I get back from Texas. Not going to have much time before then.
  14. I don’t care if Barbara Eden is 92…
  15. I don’t care if Barbara Eden is 92…
  16. 16 on the MTB on the trail after work. Clouds looked like I might get wet, but they moved around the trail.
  17. We called it the Decembrrr Dash on a 5 mile race back in Grand Island.
  18. I bought a Samsung TV from Sam’s about 4 years ago and the Samsung soundbar that goes with it. I did that because WoW was tired of fighting multiple remotes to make everything work. Now my Apple TV controls it all. Is the sound “perfect”? No. But it’s a far sight better than the original speaker. Better sound is masked by the traffic noise from outside and general household noises from within. I still have the old AV receiver. Temporarily using it for music but I want to replace with a straight stereo receiver. There, the sound actually feels more compromised than the soundbar on the TV.
  19. I never got into Bloody Marys. Red beer was a thing back in Nebraska. Basically cheap beer and tomato juice. I didn’t get that either. However, just before we moved we ran into my oldest friend and his wife. We all live each other a lot. We went into Kinkaider and he order a jalapeño ale with spicy Bloody Mary mix. THAT was really good! I haven’t found a jalapeño beer out here that stacks up. If we drive back to visit this year, I am going to stock up on some beers!
  20. I always check the parking lot before going in. I want to to be busy. For diners, I look for mid to lower middle class vehicles and a few old people waddling in and out. I did a photo session with a young lady at a diner. She asked for the session and said the food was great. We got there a little early to avoid being in the way during lunch rush, but I was nervous because it was so empty. Wow and I shared an appetizer while waiting for the model who got caught in traffic. It was really good! The model arrived and the waitresses were gushing over how pretty she was. They gave us carte Blanche to shoot wherever we wanted. The model had ordered a milkshake as a prop and they kept making topping the whipped cream to make sure it was picture perfect. It’s a bit out of my way, but I will go back!
  21. I won tickets to the Phoenix Rising soccer home opener Saturday evening. Last weekend was also the Tempe Festival of the Arts. We did a quick Costco run then went up to the Art Festival. It was a beautiful afternoon. We walked among the crowd checking out the artists displays. Some brilliant artists around here! All we bought was some locally made salsas. The crowd had lots of dogs with them. We went to have a drink and listen to a Latin Band on the plaza. As we sat, several dogs came up to me at various times to say hi. I’m not sure what vibe I was giving off, but it was pretty cool! One lady even said her Dutch Shepherd typically didn’t trust men. She could believe he liked me so much! Really made me want a dog again….
  22. I like their first 2 albums a lot. They definitely deserved more than one hit.
