  1. Here’s a Texas band that deserves more attention. This is from my favorite album
  2. I’m probably in the 5-10% group. I like them, but it ran its course for me. Futurama on the other hand, I think I’ve seen them all. For some reason that clicked more for me.
  3. In the last few years my dad was alive, he lamented how little country music he liked anymore. I bought him Asleep at the Wheel “Ride With Bob”. A tribute to Bob Wills. He wasn’t much for speaking gratitude out loud, but Mom told me he would frequently ask her to put that one on. I wish I had discovered Dale Watson before Dad was gone.
  4. Run/walk 2.5 20 minutes of weights
  5. They are a handful when only 1 wing is healthy. As I was healing, I found I could lean over, rest my good arm in the baby seat, and steer with pressure from my elbow and wrist crosswise, if that makes sense.
  6. The attraction was mutual with her maybe a little more attracted than me. There was another girl in our circle of friends I was interested in, but she was chasing someone else. A mutual friend asked if I would take future WoW and her on a double-date with another guy who was pursuing her. Things did not go well for the other girl and we left the other guy early. We took her home then I took WoW to her parents. We started dating, but it was not exclusive for a few months. Eventually it was exclusive and we married about a year later. Funny thing. The girl I had initially been chasing was a coworker of WoW. WoW was very close to delivering our first child at the time of their company Christmas party. She loved to dance the slow dances together but was not comfortable on faster songs. The other girl asked WoW if it would be ok for us to dance together. There were jokes about my “2 dates” that night. We all sat together with a big group, but I can tell you the song where I saw her realize she should have given me a chance. in hindsight, things worked out for the best.
  7. A quick memory refresh. Our house had a small patio shade that only covered the center 1/3 of the patio. I built a standalone pergola on the west 1/3 last year. Very pleased with how it turned out and the last year said it does what I want. Went to the orange home improvement store today and picked up the lumber for the other side. I’m going to let it dry outside for a couple weeks before I dive in. Still need to pick up bolts, brackets etc. After my injury last year, a couple of couples came over to help with the weeds I had not been able to finish. They were impressed and one of the husbands volunteered to help-i think partly to take note for himself. I’m going to hit him up when I’m ready to go. Might have to smoke some pork butt or something.
  8. 33 miles on the Stradalli. Beautiful temps. A little more wind than normal. Brain fart. I forgot to check tire pressures. Had to pump up the front tire around the halfway point. It held air after that so I’m guess it was just my inattention.
  9. I’d rather have a teeth cleaning than watch an awards show.
  10. Our cul de sac is pretty friendly. 4 of the 6 houses speak regularly. One has a new resident I have only seen once. He replaced a family that absolutely refused to socialize…at least the men. The house next to it is owned by some Canadians. They have only been here once since the pandemic lifted. Seemed nice enough. Last spring our neighbor organized a get together in the middle of the cul de sac. I was 3 days from my surgery after the wreck so I socialized a bit, but I didn’t have a lot of energy. We need to do one again.
  11. I checked through Giant’s website and I couldn’t find PITA’s anywhere.
  12. The 2.0 was the same engine as in my Capri. I rebuilt one so, yes. I knew them inside and out. I also rebuilt a 2.3 in high school shop for my friend’s 74 Pinto wagon. It ran better than it did when it came in, but that’s not saying much.
  13. I slept through the whole thing. Did something happen?
  14. The Pinto was more underrated in my opinion. The pre 1974 Pintos were best. They used the proper “Pinto” 2.0 L that was sourced from Europe. It produced decent power and loved to rev. Ford decided not to get it re-certified to new emissions standards, in part because their mechanics never got the hang of adjusting the mechanical lifters. The 2.3 L “Lima” engine was an abomination. It was designed to make 4 cylinder rolling appliances. It was gutless. It took fuel injection, turbocharging and inter cooling to make it a sect performer. By then it weighed almost as much as a V8.
  15. I knew the moment I typed it. Of course if you knew Sam…
  16. The CX5 forced the issue to the CX30 sooner than we planned. After a week with the CX30, I’m glad it did! As far as theft concerns, Kia Soul, Honda Civic and Nissan Altima seem to be the prime victims here. My coworker’s Soul was stolen 2 months ago. This area has a lot of hyper expensive cars driving around. Even so, if one is stolen, they are easy to pick out. I don’t lock the Miata because I don’t want them to cut the top to get in. Its biggest anti-theft measure is the manual transmission. Pretty darn effective from what I hear.
  17. Doing some errands and checking out the local art fair in Tempe. I won tickets to the Phoenix rising soccer game tonight. We will stop somewhere for dinner before the game.
  18. Saw these yesterday at Walmart. 2 wrongs don’t make a right!
  19. WoW is WFH and works on Central time. The only difference for me will be she is getting up when I’m leaving for work and she will be grumpy for a few days.
  20. Hoping to get our completed this weekend.
  21. I had a brisket burrito. Had a Dirty Bastard with it.
  22. I prefer Dark n Stormys which are basically a Moscow Mule with dark rum instead of vodka.
  23. We are grabbing from the HOA food truck night. I’ll see what they have and match up when we get home
  24. Have you seen those photos of movie stars with their stunt doubles? On their own they are usually attractive people, but when you compare them side by side, they don’t quite match up with their star. Today. Was walking between buildings on our work campus. As I was entering the lobby I saw 3 attractive women through the window. Weird thing was when I entered the lobby, they weren’t quite as attractive. If I had seen them first, they would still be attractive but the impression through the window made them feel like their own stunt doubles. sometimes I feel like that to myself
  25. I slept in a recliner when I was in my sling for several weeks. One day I noticed my feet and legs were a bit puffy. I laid on my back on the bed and the swelling went down. I tried to sleep in the bed more after. I like to sleep on the broken side. Sleeping on my back or the other side took some adjustment. When I returned to work, the hardest part was getting my arm out the window to swipe my parking pass by the reader. That could be painful!
