    NFL kick-offs

What do you think of the new rules? Under the new rules, the kicking team's kicker will continue to kick from the 35-yard line. But rather than be flanked by his teammates, the rest of the kicking team will line up at their opponent's 40-yard line, eliminating the traditional running head start. The returning team will field up to two returners in the backfield, and the rest of the team will line up in a new "set up zone" between the 30- and 35-yard line. Besides the kicker and returners, no players from either side will be allowed to move until a returner touches the ball or the ball hits the ground. Fair catches, in which a returner could signal that they would catch the ball but not attempt a return, will no longer be allowed.
  2. A friend of mine passed away recently. He was my teacher, coach, and friend. I had not seen from him in years. One day I got a call from an employee. "There's this guy here, says he knows you. His name is Sam." I'll be there in five. We reconnected. His positivity was infectious. I hired his son having met him once. Years later his son said I was the best boss. I trusted him to do his job and there was always beer in the fridge. Sam's influence on me is huge. He was my swim coach and he could not swim. I will take a silent minute to remember Sam. The tributes to him are amazing. Former Speaker of the House, Four Star General. Friends. Sam was a Cub's fan. We had to take a test during an 84 playoff game. Sutcliffe was on the mound. Sam wheeled in a tv and let us watch the game during the test. He would interrupt you to tell you Rick deserved the Cy Young Award.
  3. I've been with tracfone for a long time. Never had any other provider. It's cheap and works for me. I think I pay $120/year. They gave a couple of free years so it should cost even less. I still add some data.
  4. Welcome back. Hope you are finding time to ride.
  5. They have ski runs named for them at the King. Moose and Flying Squirrel are just off the far left side ski lift. I prefer Flying Squirrel.
  6. This is what it looks like. Check out the shape of the chain. And how it works
  7. He's watching a Bones rerun.
  8. It does not or possibly they are claiming it as such. You can pass through neighborhoods of vacant homes. It has an odd feeling.
  9. Kanye has a ranch near Cody.
  10. Here, the issue is corporations and the wealthy buying up homes and not living in them. They do it for tax purposes. WY does not have state income tax or a residency requirement. We have a lot of empty homes creating more pressure on the market for those looking for housing.
  11. Minneapolis saw lots of homes being bought up by foreign corporations. Homes sold on the first day so locals never really saw it. https://www.npr.org/2024/02/17/1229867031/housing-shortage-zoning-reform-cities To ramp up supply, cities are taking a fresh look at their zoning rules that spell out what can be built where and what can't. And many are finding that their old rules are too rigid, making it too hard and too expensive to build many new homes. So these cities, as well as some states, are undertaking a process called zoning reform. They're crafting new rules that do things like allow multifamily homes in more neighborhoods, encourage more density near transit and streamline permitting processes for those trying to build. One city has been at the forefront of these conversations: Minneapolis. That's because Minneapolis was ahead of the pack as it made a series of changes to its zoning rules in recent years: allowing more density downtown and along transit corridors, getting rid of parking requirements, permitting construction of accessory dwelling units (ADUs), which are secondary dwellings on the same lot.
  12. I know $20/hr min wage seems outrageous to many. Maybe it should have been fazed in. Around here, the min wage is $7.25. If you are not offering $20, you are not hiring. Target starts at $24. That's just shy of $50k/year for full time. PinkyG's, a local pizza joint, was offering $60-70k/year to make pizza. At the end of the day. Wages are paid. Business succeeds. People make money. The rich get richer the poor get the picture. Nobody dances better than Peter Garrett.
  13. Surly puts two direction options on their tires. One direction is for speed, the other for traction. I mounted the Specialized tire backward for better traction, not speed.
  14. The last couple of years. Sram developed it. It is Thru-axle only. I've only seen it on mt bikes. Sram has eliminated the hanger on AXS drivetrains. I bought one and carry it bikepacking. Your bike has to be recent and UDH compatible. https://www.universalderailleurhanger.com/
  15. Universal derailleur hanger
  16. UDH is fixing that on mt bikes.
  17. We only have a few chains. All fast food and pizza. Everything else is locally owned.

  19. It wasn't a story Mick. It is common in mt biking to run your tires in opposite directions. Which direction would you mount this tire on the rear wheel? Should it spin clockwise or counter clockwise as it is shown.
  20. $60 is a lot to install a chain. We have one local shop that charges $150/hour for labor. Yikes. I know the owner and manager, but I can't afford those rates. Two other shops have lower rates and do work for free for me. Yesterday, I needed a compressor. I had set up two sets of wheels tubeless. One tire would not seat. I went into the shop where I had purchased the Stan's earlier that day. The owner hit it with the compressor. I was in and out in under a minute. No charge. We discussed tire direction. I had the tire mounted backward. He noticed and I explained it was intentional. He liked my thinking.

I buy the 32oz bottle. Between my gf and myself we have 6 sets of wheels that are tubeless. I use about 1oz of sealant per inch of tire width.
  22. I've got a few thousand elk behind my place. They won't leave. Been there all winter.
  23. Seeing the same with Vanguard. 5% on money market, just over 4 on savings.
