  1. I liked going into White Castles late at night or early morning and watch the weird people. Lots of drunks, druggies, and other strange stuff. Then one night I realized that someone there was probably thinking the same about me.
  2. Maybe they stayed basically the same and you changed.
  3. Sure beats having a vet knock out the doggie to do it. We had a collie who had big trouble with her teeth. Evidently it's a collie problem. I did her teeth at least once a week with beef flavored toothpaste plus gave her a lot of dental chews for the problem.
  4. I did buy some special paraffin wax with graphite in it a while back. I haven't noticed much of a difference so I'll probably just go back to the paraffin wax at the grocery store used for canning.
  5. How do you get the sheep to pose like that? They all seem to be looking right at the camera.
  6. Looks like we might have a winner unless sheep_herder can come up with an older tractor. My first car was 1962 Studebaker Hawk GT. I wish that I kept it and my 1964 Impala SS.
  7. Here is comes: I dreamed that I was a muffler. I woke up exhausted.
  8. That way the kids can go to their in-laws on the 25th. Bonus: Weather is supposed to be good enough to go riding on the 25th......
  9. I'm originally from the Cincinnati area and had a heart attack at the tender age of 46.
  10. Yes. I just wipe the chains down then put them in a hot crock pot that has paraffin wax in it. Stir the chain around some and then hang to dry. It helps to put a loop of wire on the end of the chain so you can pull it out of the crock pot without getting burned. I usually don't clean the chain unless they get very dirty like doing a gravel ride on a wet trail.
  11. If you are military, it's leave. Otherwise it's vacation or holiday.
  12. I bought them new chains. My road bike has over 4K miles on the 11-speed chain. It isn't quite worn out using the old 12" ruler + 1/16" measurement trick but close. The 9-speed chain on my touring bike is officially worn out. I'll also change the batteries on the cadence and speed sensors soon. Back before USB rechargeable bike computers, I'd also change the batteries in them at the beginning of the year. Usually I can go the whole year that way.
  13. We bought a Frigidaire Gallery dishwasher in 2015 and it wasn't cleaning all that well, The fancy lower spray bar rotated 3 different ways but dishes and pans weren't getting cleaned from underneath the lower rack. I replaced the spray bar with a simpler one and the dishes were much cleaner. I highly recommend the Cascade Platinum ActionPacs detergent. They do a good job on burned stuff on the pans.
  14. I was in the US Air Force for over 24 years and have been a government contractor for almost 20 years. These shutdowns have caused me some grief over the years. This round I'll get paid; however, I won't be able to get into the building where I work. Therefore I'll be working from home which I normally do once a week anyway. On the flip side we have many workers on the contract who can't VPN in. If they can't get into the building to work, they get paid anyway as our contract says that it's up to the government to provide us with a place to work. Thanks taxpayers!
  15. Being a Lifetime movie, the killer was a man who was killing women and a woman stopped him.
  16. Mine was horrible. Mentally ill as in being committed a few times. WoJSTL and some of her siblings are still messed up a little by her. Even when at her best she was bad.
  17. Great story and it reinforces something that I believe: It's always better to take over a program that's in the shitter. That way you have a chance to make things better and if it does go down the tubes, well, it was probably inevitable anyway. Compare that to taking over a program that running very well and things start going downhill. You might have taken it over at its peak but it's your fault anyway.
  18. 2) Procrastinate. That way the problem goes away for another 350+ days. 1) If the money is big, lawyer up.
  19. One of my pet peeves is when mostly younger people say something similar to this: "I, like, went to the mall." WTF does that even mean? You went to the mall? You really didn't go to the mall? I, like, don't get it.
  20. Red Green: If the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy. Works for me.
  21. I have 3 hours of comp time to use up today so I should be leaving the building at around 1 PM. I have a floating holiday that I must use before December 28th which is the company's end of fiscal year. Looks like I'll be taking off on Monday. Looks like a long weekend for me!
  22. You probably confused them by using your turn signals. Up near Cincinnati you can get pulled over by the police for using turn signals. Anyone being that careful must be up to something.
