    Hot Dogs!

We used to like Hillshire Farms natural casing weiners. We had Hot Doggers on our snowmobile exhaust pipes to cook them. Super good out in the winter woods!!
  2. You really should consider it. I had no business entering two fat bike races last winter. I came in absolutely last place of everyone in this race. I think the real third place woman in the short race got tired of waiting for the lone straggler and left. I believe that's how I went home with this. Give it a try if you feel you'll be fairly safe. Yes...fairly safe is good enough. It's a race for Pete's sake!

    Ahem....

It's adorable! Thanks! Taurus is the best. I've never seen so many variations of my name! Ha! You had me at unicorn and lost me at geriatric! Gotta admit, kinda proud of it actually.

    TIG

Ahhh, ok! HoSmudge has a three bagger too. Yup, that wet grass will get you every time. That's funny about pulling the mower with the car. Pics??

    Ahem....

(double post, ha!) Sassy!!!! I keep thinking we need a get-together of SOME sort even if it's a meet-in-the-middle! But I'd be willing to road trip to MN. You crack me up. Yay! My birthday bass! I always look forward to that. Not sure. My mom wants to take me out to dinner tomorrow night. (I work til 7 tonight, so..) Mmmm, I'm a sucker for a hot fudge sundae. I made cheesecake brownies and fresh strawberries for a birthday treat to take to the office. Pretty good if I do say so myself! Do you want me to have a birthday heart attack??!! I'm thinking of a road bike ride on Saturday and fattie on Sunday. Should be a good birthday weekend!

You're gonna need a bigger bagger.....
  7. Gus needs a little sister! Or brother if you can tolerate the pissin'! Just that Gus needs to choose his new buddy. (Gotta be someone who can play foosball)
  8. Ok, I think @maddmaxx was saying I need to get on the Roubaix. I finally rode the Roubaix today! It was only about 17 miles at a snail's pace, but I was out there! I had the brilliant idea to ride home along the bay. Wrong! Those stupid little swarming bugs are out in force, so I had to breathe through my nose or suck a bunch of them in. Argh!! The really dumb thing is I knew these bugs are thick right now; both HoSmudge and I have been scrubbing thousands of those damned bugs off our trucks the past couple days. #slowlearner.
  9. I ain't changing mine. I have the coolest avatar!!
  10. At least it wasn't one of your bikes.
  11. Good luck Kzoo. Good luck to your dad too.
  12. How is he doing mentally/emotionally? That can make a big difference. I hope he's ok in that regard.
  13. It's an absolutely fabulous ride! Sure, there are 32,000 people doing the same ride. So what?! Take it for what it is.... a nice ride with no cars. AND you get to ride the ferry past the Statue of Liberty! Oh man, so many cool things I could go on and on. (blushy) But now that I feel more comfortable with the area, I am pretty sure I will take a detour or two next time. shhhh, don't tell anyone!
  14. I was reluctant to have my mamm because the first two times I got super smushed and hurt for 3 days after. We now have new equipment that does 3D. I talked to the tech that did my mamm, and she said it's actually counterproductive to compress too hard; it distorts the tissues. I said good, I was afraid to tell her she hadn't smushed me hard enough. Didn't need to be! Yay! I am no longer afraid of mammograms. Anyway I'm not afraid of them from techs who know what they are doing! Hope your results come back AOK, DH!
  15. I was thinking this too. How is your dad doing, Kzoo? I hope the people are treating him well.
  16. I actually feel bad how little it gets into the Bronx. Honestly, the volunteer people "welcoming" us into the Bronx were my faves. They were hilarious. Their self deprecating humor had me lovin' them the most. I kinda felt ripped off not seeing more of that borough. Next time I may do a little sefl-directed tour of Staten Island before heading back to Manhattan via the ferry. I'm not sure if I'd be able to do that in the Bronx.
  17. Honestly, I don't understand the big deal. I think it would have been more amazing if I had gone to some deep jungle with the fattie or something like that. Yes, I was nervous because I didn't know my way around; but it's just a city in the US. Having said that, I can't wait to go back. And I sincerely appreciate the props. (And chick is ok. )
  18. I also check traffic cams. It's raining on Staten Island. They will end the ride there. Hmm, I think the cameras closest to the exit of the Verrazano are old, stuck pics. Nowhere else is it "raining" in Staten Island.
  19. Some live coverage in case anyone besides me is interested. I need to do that again. I am hoping to go next year. HOPING. We'll see how the funds are. Bike Tour Live Stream
  20. We have horrible carpeting on our stairs. I've wanted to rip it up for years, but I know it will be a huge project. I think it's glued. Then I have to decide what to put back on the stairs. Too scary to leave them without traction.

    Micro Bars

Hmmm, I may need to make a road trip to WI. There's a bar near our camp, so basically out in the woods. I've driven past that place for over 30 years. It was closed for quite a while, but it's been open for a year or so. HoSmudge always said I couldn't go in; apparently it was a little rough. But I plan on giving it a try this summer. If I suddenly stop posting here, you'll know HoSmudge was right!
