I envy @Zephyr in that his job is way too much fun.
I like that @BR46 planned well in his younger years. Not many people do that. (Thankfully HoSmudge did)
I'm glad to hear @Airehead is going to teach at a university!
I have an inkling of understanding for @Scrapr. HoSmudge and I were looking forward to me retiring. We talked about it last summer.
My first day of retirement will be June 1. HoSmudge has me set up very nicely. I received his full retirement which includes good health insurance. I will start receiving a percentage of his SS in June or July. My 401k is doing well. Home and camp are paid as are the trucks.
My boss wants me to come back as a per diem. I probably should, but I don't want to. I am not having fun at my job, and I think I can avoid the "widow's penalty" if I don't work. We'll see.
