  1. They may be adding lead to increase the weight.
  2. Jax agrees, we draw the line when he tries to bring frozen road apples in the house to enjoy his poopsicles in comfort.
  3. They had to work 20 hours straight. They were known for doing a lot of goofing off, no accountability, but still nobody should have to work 20 hours straight.
  4. Horse poop is much less offensive than other forms of poop. What I don’t get is on mups that allow horses they are king. Everyone must yield to horses and they even suggest you get off your bike and walk it past a horse. If the horse isn’t properly trained to share the trail they shouldn’t be on the trail. I pass Amish horses every day and have never had a problem.
  5. OTOH ten riders riding together single file is much harder to pass than ten riders riding two by two. Cars should be using the other lane to pass anyway to pass and not crowding the cyclist. I do ride with large number of riders but I don’t ride with them. If I come up on other riders it means I am going faster than them, I pass them and go on my way. If riders pass me I let them go and don’t try to jump on the back
  6. The group that does two centuries each summer here added a gravel ride two years ago. They did it halfhearted, no supported rest stops or sag support, and no route markings. They do provide a route you can download. The elevation gain in 100 miles of gravel is like 6,000 feet. I haven’t tried it, I usually just ride their 65 mile road ride with well stocked rest stops and sag support and markings on the road to show the route. I think they made it hard so nobody would sign up and they could drop the gravel ride because nobody signed up. Guess what? The gravel riders loved the ride and it had twice as many riders the second year. They don’t provide anything but a route download for the gravel ride. I’m not paying $30 for that. I downloaded the route, I might try it on my own sometime.
  7. Motor Trend referred to that as “leisurely acceleration”.
  8. Most thing buyers were not skilled enough to overhaul the engine on a plank in the middle of nowhere so they just scrapped them.
  9. At the Forge the new hires always worked in packing. Before the strike the packers were scheduled seven days a week and they had to check the schedule every week because they would move them to different shifts as needed. I felt bad for the guys that had to work 3-11 on Sunday and then work 11-7 on Monday. That shouldn’t even be legal.
  10. I wonder how many miles they averaged before they hit the scrap yard? I think I only remember seeing them the first year they made them.
  11. Speaking of crappy VWs how about The Thing?
  12. i can’t watch the tornado because it’s dark outside but I think we are going to be ok.
  13. You haven’t lived until you dunk a slice of pizza in a delicious cup of Tim Horton’s coffee.
  14. Does it come with coupons you can save up for your next coronary bypass?
  15. Thanks, my phone has been buzzing the last couple hours warning me. I should be ok, I sprayed everything down with tornado repellant.
  16. I met a teenage guy on the bike trail trying to put his chain back on. He had a Walmart one speed and no tools. It looked like he must have oiled his chain with used motor oil. His hands were completely black from handling the chain. I didn’t have a wrench for the axle to loosen the chain and tighten it after it was back on the sprockets. I just gave him advise on how to get it back on. I suggested he carry a few tools in the future and use a different chain lube. I stayed with him until he got it on.
  17. He could give him the body he always dreamed of. A headshot is sometimes misleading. One pretty lady didn’t want to meet face to face because of bad experience in the past. We continued to talk and it turns out she had agreed to meet someone and when he showed up he was very rude and upset that she had misrepresented herself. She was at least 100 pounds overweight. I told her I wanted to meet her and give her some tips on creating a better profile. We met up at Olive Garden and we talked for an hour. Then we went out to the cars and talked for another hour. I told her she could leave the face picture as her primary photo but have a friend take a full body photo of her dressed in an outfit that she feels she looks the best in. That way any men that are turned off by her weight will just scroll on by and not waste her time. I told her there are men that wouldn’t be bothered by that and she won’t have to deal with the ones are rude when they feel they have been misled. Randomguy could post a whole array of Chris’s photoshops and the women will see what a fun guy he really is.
  18. The girl that lived across the street from me missed six weeks of school when she had it. I didn’t get it from or give it to her I guess it affects everyone different. It was the worst soar throat I ever had. I felt like I swallowed the hook and someone ripped it out.
  19. With 49 years of working full time I lost track of how many vacations. They were not what you would call exotic. Vacationed at Lake Erie, cabins at Pymatuning, driving vacations Disney and the Ocean, camping vacations to a state park.
  20. Have you taken during your working career?
  21. I had mononucleosis one time. I had a terrible sore throat. I called and made a doctor appointment but they couldn’t get me in for a week. I went to work every day. The doctor ran tests and discovered I had mono, made me take a week off work. I rebuilt the engine in my van during that week.
  22. I go to bed, close my eyes and I’m out. Will sleep all night unless I have to pee. During winter I drink water before going to bed so owl have to get up halfway through the night and owl fix the fire while I’m up.
  23. Parts manager for a Chevy dealership, factory worker, automotive technician, maintenance supervisor, truck driver, landscape technician, handyman, forge press operator.
