  1. I can't remember the last time I'd lost power in my home. Maybe back in the 80's there'd been some incidents in my neighborhood where the power was out, but now with many areas having underground lines and such, at best you'll experience a surge or something that resets the clocks.
  2. Well it's a matter of reporting. The police would probably have to have canvassed the area to find out if anyone had been firing a gun at all (a 22 sounds like a firecracker at best), so the owner would have had to have fessed up to the act in the first place, most likely.
  3. How the hell did they figure out who fired the gun?
  4. I remember one January flight I was on, coming back from NYC where the pilot was on approach to landing in Nashville, and he DOVE the airplane at the steepest angle I've ever encountered in any aircraft. I don't know what was going on, but I had a little pucker factor. Probably a Russian navy pilot.
  5. What goes for a strong and affordable wheelset for a rider that weighs in at around 215lbs? I think I used to read that some Mavic Open pros or something were good with a high spoke count, but not sure what is out there these days. I've been off the bike for nearly 3 years and am not sure what is even out there.
  6. Most of the resumes we receive for our call center staff are crap. Poorly typed, poorly edited, poorly structured, etc. Every so often you get a good one, and either the person has had help (they didn't write it) or they are a fairly well educated student merely passing through. I tell people all the time that if you can type a decent speed, have competent grammar, use a computer with some minimal Office software skills, and can show up for work, you're pretty much set these days versus a lot of the competition. Problem is, there isn't much these days.

    Bike fit

I find bike fits to be rather unneccessary unless you have some sort of form problem or working around an injury, or just are trying to nail down a position. Chances are, a rider seeking a fit isn't riding enough in the first place to warrant it. Any mechanic at a 'shop can size you up in a few minutes for the size bike you need. Worst thing you might need to make sure of is bar width and crank length.
  8. That's very reasonable of you good sir. Henceforthwith, you are the badass here.
  9. Don't ever end threads about me! I'm the finisher!
  10. No, I'm from hell. I'm the badass everywhere.
  11. Well, a decent amount I guess. Nothing to terribly write home about. 'Hell or High Water' was a decent modern western type story with Jeff Bridges. I think it's best if you just mention a movie and I'll tell you how much it sucked.
  12. Olas here..... Been off the bike for nearly 2 years now... going to school for a Data Analytics degree part-time.... less than a year left. Will be taking my final discipline courses over the next 6 months and then some fluff and then done.... My son is now 2.5 years old. How the fck did that happen eh?
  13. Yeah, I got to it just now, but the format is so very weird.
  14. I'm not sure how 'back' I am. I got some sort of automated email from this site, and decided to go have a look see. I'm on a bunch of FB groups now...the discussions are certainly lively.
  15. I've been absent from there nearly a year or more, and it seems to have vanished. Just wanted to see what was going on. Did Bicycling kill it?
  16. How about some video from the first Gulf War, where me and some of my buddies in arms annihilated a column of Iraqi trucks, and then we find 6 kids amongst the burned out 2ton trucks, all huddled in the floor deck to escape the 50 rounds we perforated one of them with...two of them with their upper torsos blown off, and the rest burned to a crisp. Would you like that video, overnighted? I've got the stuff from where we walked up on that.... No wonder certain morons got us into this mess, they think this a damned video game....
  17. Where was this version of you during that whole Hobby Lobby debate?
  18. CNN is a tabloid. MSN plays around depending on the month, Fox is a GOP shill. It's a Federal Republic. It is what it is. Technological changes allow people to watch whatever fits their narratives now. You know this to be true. No different than going to church to hear what you want to hear, instead of staying home and watching demonic programming like Sesame Street. The internet radicalizes people who would probably be out collecting stamps 30 years ago. White as a sheet teenagers finding solace in the ideals of ISIS, etc, etc..... I've no illusions that the USA was ever fated to survive 200, 300, or 500 years. It will end and give way to some other form of government perhaps, most likely due to the societal changes that population sizes, diversity, and other factors bring into play. You or I may perceive them as bad, but that's because in both cases, we are holding onto ideals fixed in a place in time, and are refusing in several cases, to change with them. Both of us. My son, however I raise him, will have a very different outlook on what the USA 'is' than we do. As will his kids, etc. This alone may spell the end of the nation as we see it. I think it ultimately has little to do with the miniscule politics we bicker about. It's not like any of the 'scandals' outlined by Nate above have the legs to survive being written into a history book, no more than the scandal of 'no wmds' will likely fit in the same.
  19. Nah, it doesn't work, so if there's anything I'd enjoy, it's you wasting your time....
  20. Just a theory about your pedophiliacish religion...
