I do that too, but only on the regular clues which come fast and furious. Final Jeopardy gives you plenty of time to figure out what the question is.
I didn't mean to demean her in any way. I'm sure she is a lot more knowledgeable than I am. It was just that after I had wracked my brain trying to figure out when the first LA Olympics occurred (I knew 84 but couldn't remember the first one), it was kind of a shock to see her answer the way she did. And Ralph is right, it was a runaway, so it didn't matter. It seemed a bit humorous at the time.
Actually, I hate Final Jeopardy. It plays too big of a part in who wins. One person can excel during the regular game, but if it isn't a runaway, that person can lose everything on one quirky clue at the end. Not fair or fun, IMO.
