  1. A few of those, some dust, some shavings and scrapings and a little bit of kindling, plus the spoon, all from one small piece of yesterday’s firewood haul fetched back by bike from where it fell, about three quarters of a mile away. Sycamore, my favourite wood for these tools, not bad for burning, neither, but this stuff has a way to go, % of water is in the high 30s.
  2. It done; I like a job like that, started and finished in a morning and ready to try out for size tonight when I cook my supper: I realised just recently that I was short of these poking and stirring shticks we call wooden spoons. ?
  3. Please see my answer to John, this is a single purpose tool.
  4. Now you’re getting warmer John, but for poking what? It is very particularly for a specific type of poking.
  5. Interesting idea, a whistling shtick: Negatif, not a whistle.
  6. Not even close, maxx, though the first British jet engine, do I mean the worlds’ first jet engine, was fitted in a doped canvas covered airframe made out of wood.
  7. Correct, but for shaking at what, please be more specific, Don. A tickling shtick, a walking shtick, other sort of shtick? Take your pick of the shticks.
  8. It is cut out already, and ready for whittling down to final shape. It will be done before anyone takes a guess at this rate <whistle>
  9. Very sound analysis that, John, I especially right there with you re additives: they should really be named negaters or minuses, these things people put in coffee, but are not coffee, let them henceforth be known as coffee Detractors.
  10. When did RG flounce out, then? Must have missed that, Linky?
  11. Ja, down in my garden again on a mother lovely sunny morning, the birds are in the trees tweeting, leaves are gently falling, all seems right with the worlde this morning, and I am messing with my wood, in a calm and measured way, having put down the splitting axe, and even drawing in pencil a line to cut to next: but what am I making, think you?
  12. No need to apologise to me for any of this, I have learned things here compleatly outside my coffee orbit, you are clearly very knowledgeable on this subject, far more so than I ever hope to be. But not knowing much I at least know what I like and dislike, and I love my lavazza espressos, and shall doubtless in my naivety continue to enjoy them, knowing nothing better, like.
  13. I cannot think of a daily available coffee that is worse than Starbucks. Seriously, because there isn’t one, Costa is better than it, as is McDonalds, at half the price, too, any supermarket cafe own brew is better than SB’s, SB’s is the pits of my coffee worlde, fact.
  14. Lavazza, and Yes, I am still drinking it daily, at home and at the concession they have at work.
  15. There you go, and if that’s yer game be advised, adopting correct spelling, as you have hitherto embraced, though here you lapsed, eg favor, sic, or indeed, sick, is your friend and ally and sure to endear you to our soon would be, Dear Leader, t kzoosta.
  16. KrAzY by name, KrAzY by nature, too.
  17. You no need to mansplain it me. ?
  18. We all have our crosses to bare, I suppose. Personally I adore pink, in many though not all of its shades and hues, and have many clothes and personal items in said colour. Maybe not every man could carry it off, but not every man has my self assurance, I suppose, nor cooking skills come to that.
  19. Ja, Gutt punkt re time zones, I have to blame the Germans, my Lidl clock, as previously mentioned in another thread. They’re messing with my head, much as they’re messing with our Brexit, Bless em.
  20. Stuck in the 50s much, Thom, or hast heard men can cook these days?
  21. Homemade pasta is as well as being an absolute piece of duff to make is such a joy to eat when you’ve done it you’ll never go back, trust me on this. Also, it’s about taking ownership, investing oneself in what one eats, makes scents, and you know it.
  22. You are all insane: 1, t pigeons and doves are people too, 2, t cats are well catered to, 3, they actually need t exercise (concentrate, t cats, not t avians) 4, shooting stuff, especially living stuff, is insane, and can’t possibly make you a better person, or make you feel you are, if YMMV, I pity you.
  23. Homemade pasta and filling I trust? What of sauce for them?
  24. Dear Doties, so much FAIL my friend. Are you not the author of this here thread, the Glossary of Pedalisms? And as such, are ye incapable of translating the Cs into the Fs? I thought not, now get back to your lexicographical wanderings, and keep up your good work: it won’t go unnoticed when they’re handing out the worthwhile projects, as they come along,
