  1. Maybe you forgot it reminded you? Why assume you just forgot about seeding the Beefsteaks? You probably forget forgetting all sorts of things.
  2. ...and the bonus question (aka Final Jeopardy) was a tough one!
  3. ...but pub trivia...that's where the true men and women go to match wits!
  4. Palma seemed to have boundless hotels But lots of visitors too. It does look like the eclipse ends just after passing over the island. I think you are right about the coolness of a "sunset eclipse"! Maybe need to hustle to the other side of the island though for that.
  5. Weird. Our normal dishwasher doesn't warp anything.
  6. Who's Buddy and who's Bob in that??? NOT ENOUGH INFO!!!!
  7. All about "perspective". From the narrow perspective of years or even decades, nonsense. From a longer and longer and longer perspective? Absolutely true It will be, in 2400 AD or 2500 AD, some sort of footnote in a history "book" or a demarcation in explaining things over the millennia of human history. Just like we have the history "writing" and then "printing press" and then "radio" and "internet" and ...TELEPATHY via embedded neural links!
  8. Gotta agree with Dr Jung. Can't argue with any of those.
  9. Pre-ride reception tonight, organized ride Sat and Sun. Weather looks nice for Sat (high of 69) but cool for Sun (41 going up to 59), so gonna have to sort out best dress for an early AM start time. I hate being overdressed, but also thinking the pace might be a bit slow to get much body heat going.
  10. Wordle 1,035 3/6* 🟨⬜🟨⬜🟩 AeroSPACE ⬜🟩🟨⬜🟩 HASTE 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 RAISE
  11. I am against pooping in someone's well! That's rude. If you're getting cholera in the US from someone who pooped in the woods and left it, then YOU are doing something wrong with your life
  12. A van by the river, or a rock by the ocean!
  13. I agree. Ladies out exercising are like the ladies working out in the gym - likely to be perv-worthy. RG knows that but hates exercising. Jsharr can learn from us and start exercising.
  14. Most people are sheeple! You and me? Renegades of the avant-garde!
  15. Is she singing in the shower? That really helps me see this in my head.
  16. Too soon for an "I sharted the process" parody?
  17. On an OPEN road (most country and many suburban roads), this is fine and a good way to chat. On a BUSY road or a one lane road with cars regularly passing it is BAD FORM. In a group ride, it is always BAD FORM to not follow a "car back" call and go single file immediately.
  18. I see this all the time and am like "WTF? Do these folks not also drive a car and realize how shitty they are behaving?" The bigger rides, like the local century, often has a bad mix of rare riders and entitled riders, and I prefer to distance myself from those packs except when necessary. They are an absolute nightmare when in one of the rare busy road sections. The ride is early Sun morning, so at least fewer drivers are out, but it is just sad to see how folks don't realize there are simple ways to share a road.
  19. I think I sent him down a "fact finding" mission reviewing Mr Butts' oeuvre!
  20. It's hard to imagine, but the last brand new "original" Beetle is NEWER than my Accord or my Civic!!!! YOWZA!
  21. I hate that you don't know going in how likely that is to happen, and the riders often seem to get amped up further and further. Yeah - the first guy can get through the light as it turns yellow, but what about the 10th? He's either stopping (and group ride over) or going through a red light. Yeah, I don't bother with the A rides because they seem to be spotty of whether they follow "normal" rules or just think hammering doesn't follow rules. I'm too old for that.
  22. I think the gravel will have a lot of takers. I personally am in much better shape late August than early in the year when the other big gravel ride occurs. Last June I did the other ride - 78 miles and 6,500" elevation - and it whupped me. With gravel - as you know - it's rarely a few big climbs, but rather near constant up and down. That wears me out more than a 100 miles on the road with the same elevation.
