It was nice in Europe because countries were just a train hop away. I hit a lot of them during a summer trip through school many moons ago. I also find it funny how some Europeans think if you have not been to more then 5 countries you are not well traveled.

So, Mrs Z and I finished binge watching all four seasons last night. Oh, I very, very much enjoyed it!!! And am very bummed that it ended.
Very nicely done twist in the last episode. 😊
I did like that show a lot, each actor was perfect for their parts.

If you want an unobstructed view of the northern lights, forget Finland and go to the Arctic Circle. Don’t know about lodging, but need to make some compromises.
Still determined to go to Finland? If you have Apple TV+, the Reluctant Traveler, Season 1, Episode 1 is Finland. Great source to develop your must do list while there.
I want a yeti sighting also

Finland, Norway, Iceland, and Canada/Alaska all seem like reasonable options, so maybe plan around visiting any of those instead of just Finland.
Folks I know have "lucked out" and "struck out" when chasing the Northern Lights. A super crapshoot for sure, but the main thing to consider is the longer the night, the better the chances, so December would seem optimal - so Dec 21st?
It definitely depends on clouds and weather patterns that time of year. Wok was talking the furthest north for best viewing.
I use the northern light tracker site all the time to see where and how far down they head.- 1

The wife and kids wanna see the northern lights. Wok is looking at hotels and locations.
anyone got recommendations.
we are thinking late November early December- 1

So we are not needing these glasses anymore for a bit. Sooooooooo we gave them to the two 18 year olds and had them put them on. Being an over cast day they could not see anything.
then we gave them a couple cut own shoots of bamboo and watched them play Marco Polo as they wacked at each other.
No child was hurt severely fitting this lunch break.
What helps is they have been friends for about 10 years and needed to get frustrations out with each other- 1

First get the full door-to-door price! Then work him down be knocking things off the quote. He might end up giving it for free to stop the "negotiations"!
Actually at over the boarder prices he might just owe me money by the time it’s over.
if he says he can’t do it, I will personally attack Tim Hortons and tell him he is a leafer

How much would you charge if me and the family drove up to Canuckida to have ya fly us around to see the northern lights?

I did the same with the telescope, but I didn’t really catch any color like yours. Also notice that the bottom section of your picture has the sun creasing through the moons mountain range. Your solar flairs are a lot better then mine for sure

I’ll be at work, but have no idea what I’ll be doing tomorrow. I’ll find out around 7:30 what the job is for the day..
if possible I’ll be screwing off and if that’s the case I’ll have my little red telescope with me and the sun filter.

Do you need a sign? I have about 20 street signs in my garage. One day I’ll get off my lazy arse and actually use them for a project I have in mind

Not moving, but wife is planing a trip there sometime near September for the aurora borealis viewing way up north. I’m planning my trip around playing and cuddling a polar bear! 🐻❄️

I bought tomatoes and pepper plants yesterday. I don’t have a @MickinMD or @KrAzY style greenhouse. Two Cherokee purples, one Better Boy, one other large sandwich tomato, two cherry tomato plants, Seranno pepper, and a Thai basil plant. I still need some jalapeño and habanero plants, squash, and beans.
I think the wife was saying she already has 20 tomato plants in the ground ( 4 types) and something like 20 plants of three or four types of peppers.
we also planted long beans. She said she is not going wild this year 😂- 1
