Mostly gone. The trees lining this road are cherry trees. There are a few trees out near us that are still near full bloom but the transition to redbud and dogwood blooms in beginning. I saw my first dogwood in bloom today.

Yep, the Army ten miler is in late September. The Marine Corps Marathon is the 800 lb gorilla on the last Sunday in October. Over 30,000+ runners.

Nope, there were no trash cans out except behind the tables. Empty cups are just tossed on the ground. A sweeper comes down the course and vacuums up all the trash. We packed our own trash out on the event trucks with the tables, Gatorade coolers, and pitchers.

No, runners, like some of your “students” have to learn by the FAFO method of learning. Not my job to do it for them.

Was yesterday. Sponsored by area Credit Unions it’s a ten mile race in Washington DC as part of the spring cherry blossom festival. I parked by National Airport and rode my bike over (3 miles or 5k). My credit union manned the water stop at mile 8.5 on Ohio Drive / Hains Point. The competitive runners just run by. The casual runners grab cups of Gatorade or water from us volunteers. The slower the pace, the more cups they grab. Nice people and a good experience.

There is a lot of saturated fat in that sammich. Sounds delicious but maybe limit those to four servings per year.

Will do. I decided hell no to pellet smokers. I’d rather use real wood and learn to manage the pit. Until now I was using a 22” Weber kettle.
