  1. ...and that includes your pups, kitties, and any other creatures that you have in you lives. My buddy Moo (R) joined his brother Mac (L) in heaven yesterday. They were some of my pup's only doggie friends.
  2. Parker, the dog running across town, heavily pregnant, starving, has now become a mother who’s only worries are if her babies are contented. Parker’s babies are almost a week old and we thought you might like to see how they are. Thanks to everyone that has previously donated for Parker and her puppies. We all love puppies but they’re expensive to get to an adoptable age. Puppies require so much more financial input than adult dogs. They need extra parasite medications, extra vaccinations, more stimulation, lots of clean up supplies, higher priced food, more veterinary visits, weekly weighing and monitoring as they grow… and we won’t mention replacing all the flip flops they’ll probably eat. #DSDAparker
  3. He seems at least decent as an announcer, and is aware when someone needs explaining. CVV is fine, if not too subdued. I miss the old Bob Roll promo pieces from 15-20 years ago, that was my favorite Bob.
  4. Sadie's tiny pups, The Ice Cream Litter, are growing up! Just 5 weeks old but will be ready for adoption soon. Sadie is only 25 pounds herself and pups will not be much bigger when grown up! Super sweet, smart & playful. We are accepting applications now so don't hesitate! Get your application in early! www.DSDA.org/adopt (Write the name under comments) #dsdasadie #dsdaicecreamlitter @Kirby

    Inseparable

These two crack me up. Smokey got put out for eating CJ’s toys so CJ goes to him with his toys. The other day Smokey got put out so CJ could eat. So CJ went to the slider & brought him food! I had a feeling these two would be a hoot together and it’s looking like it. They really are good to each other.

    Oreo Swirl

Swirl and Oreo are two sisters from the "Ice Cream Litter". They are now 17 days old and just as precious as can be! Mama Sadie and the pups all saw our vet this week. We are happy to report everyone is happy and healthy. Enjoy!
  7. ... on Memorial Day, and my wife looked out the front window, and the neighborhood fox was doing its rounds of the 'hood. Seemingly, not a care in the world. SiL does have chipmunks that live around back under the deck.
  8. Worked as a volunteer on Friday and Sunday. Saturday Beretta was there with my do do demonstrations of bikejoring and canicross at the Heartland Mushers Association expo booth. She made lots of friends and ate wieners but not the wiener dog who came to visit her. Sorry for the poor picture. My phone lens was dirty.

    Dog Brags

Covers are up and no one is barking. Huge busy arena.
  10. I try not to judge. I try really hard. But sometimes, I have to wonder why people do evil things. If I could no longer afford a dog, I would find someone to take him or her. I often wonder if strays get dumped and then relocated instead of rescued. Anyway, this happened yesterday. From the DSDA Facebook page This one is really hard. These 4 adorable Great Pyrenees pups were dumped under a bridge in the middle of nowhere east of Dallas. We don't know how long they were there but luckily they clung together until their Guardian Angel stumbled upon them yesterday. By the time they were noticed they were quite hungry, thirsty and coated in stickers. By the time they were spotted one of the pups was severely injured but fortunately scooped up right away and taken to a vet in the area with an orthopedic injury. This pup has been accepted by another rescue organization called SPIN. The 3 remaining puppies waited in the same spot where they were likely dumped until these photos could be circulated on Facebook and DSDA was tagged asking for help. This time, on a wing and a prayer, we said yes to the remaining three pups only because one of our amazing vet partners said YES to keeping them safe for a few days until fosters could be arranged. They were safely delivered by an Angel to our vet partner yesterday afternoon and we will know more about them today once they have been examined. What we do know is they appear to be well socialized, sweet, willing to be easily rescued and trusting and what is hard to stomach is even though these pups went through hell at the hands of a human/s they are still smiling!!! We are scrambling for fosters as is everyone. Never in our cumulative years of rescue in the Dallas and surrounding areas have we ever seen the discarded pet problem so bad. If you can foster please go to www.DSDA.org/foster for more details and submit our online application. We are located in the North Dallas area and our 3 vet partners are in the same area so it's easiest if our foster families are located within driving distance to our vets and meet n greets also located close by. #dsdabridgelitter #greatpyrenees #fosteringsaveslives
  11. when Rascal and Romeo took over Remi's bed?
  12. They were all looking out until I grabbed the camera.
  13. Robyn just knew there was a problem and kept pushing various vets...Sadie's has a pinched nerve and compressed disk...on top of that a piece of plastic that they hoped to remove at a later date..but it moved..so two emergency surgeries later she is recovering.
  14. The dogs saw a possum in the yard and went tearing after it. The possum saw the dogs—and just fell over. Take a nap, problem averted. Dogs for scale
  15. but at least this explains why @Randomguy was been absent
  16. Adventures with Dahlia! Look at that BIG smile! This cutie has been checking out the trails and loves discovering new things. Not only does she love it but she looks good while doing it too! If you're looking to jazz up your trail walks or other adventures look no further! Dahlia is almost 4 months old and part of the Bishop Arts Litter rescued before the first freeze. Her mom is a petite wire hair terrier and dad was a traveling salesman but our best guess is he may have had some shepherd or hound in his DNA. www.DSDA.org/adopt #dsdadahlia #dsdabishopartslitter

    Bruno

I hope @ChrisL does not see this. Welcome Bruno! This sweet little 13 week old border collie mix found himself wandering around in a pasture. No one knew from where he came and no wanted wanted him around. Can you even imaging not welcoming this sweet face?! DSDA had a foster family who said "yes to the mess!" Oops, we mean adorable puppy!! In all seriousness, sadly Bruno was abandoned in a field and left to fend for himself. He is safe and happy and will be in search of his forever home soon! Get your application in early at www.DSDA.org/adopt, Just add his name under comments!
  18. Emporium Pie (named after the pie store she was found near in the Bishop Arts District) is working on perfecting all of it's various forms.

    Mona

Mona was put down this morning. Her cancer came back and her health declined rapidly. She has not eaten or drank anything in the last 3 or 4 days. She couldn't walk and barely respond when you talked to her or touched her so it was time.

    Healthy Dog

Ryan isn’t letting cancer take away his fun. I was throwing a ball for him in the barn. He went over not around the jump.
