Zephyr Posted May 29, 2020 Share #1 Posted May 29, 2020 ... try it? This is showing up in major grocery chains here. Apparently it is an excellent source of Protein. Dont turn your nose up too quick...., a friends father living on the Fundy coast has told me when he was growing up they fertilized their fields with lobster and only the poorest of the poor kids took lobster for school lunch while the 'rich' kids all took peanut butter. I have to do some recipe research but am willing to try just about anything once

ChrisL Posted May 29, 2020 Share #5 Posted May 29, 2020 I used to eat live crickets (well lots of bugs) for beer money back in the day. Not something I’m gonna buy but I have no issue trying it.

Razors Edge ★ Posted May 29, 2020 Share #13 Posted May 29, 2020 I've got a lifetime supply of protein powder already, so I'd have to pass on the cricket powder. I can see a restaurant chef figuring out a palatable way to prepare crickets as part of a meal, but likely until then, it has to wait for a trip to Asia and a street market, I guess. MoseySusan Posted May 29, 2020 Share #14 Posted May 29, 2020 Probably not. But cicadas in red chili sauce is pretty common in the SW.
12string Posted May 29, 2020 Share #15 Posted May 29, 2020 I have eaten chocolate covered crickets. Just crunchy chocolate, that's all. YEARS ago, Eastern seaboard prisons were being called inhumane because of the constant appearance of lobster on the menu. They were that plentiful
