Sunday Morning Puttering

Recommended Posts

Got up late.  Made some coffee and played on the interwebs a bit.
Cleaned the fountain pump and fountain and filled it with water.  Need to add some mosquito dunks if I can find them
Pulled some weeds out of the mint plants
Fertilized the garden and potted plants and watered them
Mixed up some Super Bloom and fed the crepe myrtles.
Blew the leaves off the front patio, walk and steps.

I did similar - finally found and cut the killer vine that was growing up the arborvitaes.  The darn thing did a perfect impersonation of an arborvitae branch - the exact same bark!  Then I started coughing up a lung and decided they meant it when they said the outdoor air quality is shit today because of 5/5 for grass pollen.  Pruned a bush by the house and came in, had a bagel and coffee.

Martha is cooking "Mexican eggs"  Scrambled eggs with cheese, salsa and tortilla chips.

After breakfast I will take the dogs for a walk.

I have 4 Scoutmaster conferences this afternoon.

Wait - it is Texas, so isn't it hotter than hell?

Not yet, but i will be soon.  It is only 81 right now and will only get to 86 or so according to my fancy iPhone.

I also fixed a toilet today.  It was an adventure worthy of it's own thread.

Today is frustrating - gorgeous oot, but I got some sunburn on my arms yesterday so should avoid the sun, plus the air quality is said to be very bad.

A busy smudge is a happy smudge, apparently!

Especially when I'm working on my shed.

And using tools.

Luckily I got my puttering out-of-the-way before 1 o’clock. I have been on the phone in various scouting capacities since 2 o’clock this afternoon. Just got off my last call for the night I hope

Use to be a cafe in Bryan, where we would eat migas on Saturday morning before visiting the antique store down the street. They were very good. Sometimes we would go to Snook later in the day to go to the bakery and get bar-b-que. Those were some Good Days.
