A puzzle for you

There are two letters (one a vowel and one a consonant) at least one of which appears in each state name except for 3 states.

Can you name the two letters and the three states that don't include either of these letters.

(See the sorts of things I learn while reading Readers Digest while waiting for my haircut appointment?  :nodhead:  )

"A" and "N" with the three states being Ohio, Missiouri and Mississippi?

Having guessed that, I am not sure I can even name all 50 states off the top of my head

Disregard that..., I just realized New York already messed that up

You were correct the first time.  The two letters are A and N - and New York has an "n".    You were right on the three exceptions. :nodhead:

Interesting. I was thinking those two, but was going individually instead of both at once so it wasn’t working.

You were correct.  A state had to have either an A or an N in it's name.  And I had no clue you could do a spreadsheet for this ! :dontknow:

When I retired...  one of the gifts I received was a T-shirt with the slogan 'I have a spreadsheet for that' on the front of the shirt.  I had a great team...
