Mr. Silly Posted July 8, 2020 Share #1 Posted July 8, 2020 I need to know. It is important. For us it is usually 2 per load except for sheets which get none.

Razors Edge ★ Posted July 8, 2020 Share #6 Posted July 8, 2020 We just keep reusing them over and over and randomly add new ones. And by "we", I mean my wife. If I do the wash, it is a lot "simpler".

ChrisL Posted July 8, 2020 Share #11 Posted July 8, 2020 My wife used to cut them in half to save on dryer sheets. Really honey, this is saving us how much a year?!? After years of using 1/2 she finally gave up and we just use one now. 1
Kzoo Posted July 8, 2020 Share #12 Posted July 8, 2020 WoKzoo uses 2 per load. I use one per load when I do laundry.
12string Posted July 8, 2020 Share #13 Posted July 8, 2020 Sorry, the singular/plural mixing in the title threw me. That, and I don't do the wash. I always wondered how that worked. So, if you use 2 dryer sheets do the clothes come out dryer? How much water can one sheet absorb? 1
2Far ★ Posted July 8, 2020 Share #14 Posted July 8, 2020 None.
Allen ★ Posted July 8, 2020 Share #15 Posted July 8, 2020 None. I’m single, just dry is good enough. My neighbor who raises alpacas sells these “alpaca dryer balls.” I threw one of those into a load a few times and could tell zero difference between using them and not. Gave it to the dogs to play with and they shredded it all over the floor of the living room in short order. 1

JerrySTL ★ Posted July 8, 2020 Share #17 Posted July 8, 2020 0 or 1. Some clothing says to not use any softeners which includes dryer sheets. However I mostly hang dry such clothing. I also don't use them for towels and rags that I keep in the garage. As far as laundry detergent, I use the various brands of free and clean as I don't need any added chemicals or smells. For my cycling and running clothing, I use special detergents that are designed for those materials. Keeps the pores from getting clogged up so that they wick away sweat better. Longjohn ★ Posted July 8, 2020 Share #18 Posted July 8, 2020 I have three sheets in the drier right now with some towels and washcloths and a washable pad. I do a load every day but I bought enough that I don’t have to. It’s just easier to do one load a day. I used a Downey ball in the washer with fabric softener. When we would smoke pot in boarding school we would roll up a towel lined with dryer sheets and exhale into that hoping it would kill the smell. It didn’t. 1
maddmaxx ★ Posted July 8, 2020 Share #25 Posted July 8, 2020 1, the same number as the detergent pods I use. I haven't fallen into the marketing trap of using more than that. By the way, dryer sheets are bad for the good wicking material of bike jerseys.
