They super-ultra blocked it. I can’t even get to it with the override password. That’s only reserved for porn

Those prudes probably saw this thread and panicked (after getting a little tingly in their trousers):

I'm guessing with all of the comments about hookers and blow in the past.  LJ topless in a hospital bed.  Dots talking to himself...

I just searched 'gambling' there were LOTS of posts about that.

I need you to explain to the powers to be why this website should not be blocked at work. They super-ultra blocked it. I can’t even get to it with the override password. That’s only reserved for porn, self-harm, or gambling websites.

I just use my phone with cellular data. The site uses little data.

My old workplace had the personification of Mordac. for an IT director. He really sucked.

My current  IT guy is the the one from the Great Spotify Wars.  Those were some crazy times. He really did not like people listening to music at work. First he blocked Spotify, then Pandora. After that, I brought in an iPod with music. He took everyone's speakers out of their offices. I used headphones. He made a rule against headphones. Then, I figured out that I could listen to music on YouTube. YouTube could not be blocked because we had some valid reasons for having that open. His answer to this was to monitor the amount of bandwidth each person used...

Then, and this is my favorite of all time...  I downloaded an audiobook from the public library. He saw the spike in bandwidth and assumed it was music. He blocked all public libraries for all 50+ school buildings in my district. We push the teachers to use a website called INFOhio for a lot of things.  This was considered to be a public library and blocked. The outrage was intense. He refused to unblock libraries for about a week. I left that position about a week after that and there was still fallout about that decision.

I'm so happy I don't work there anymore.
