petitepedal ★ Posted July 29, 2020 Share #1 Posted July 29, 2020 Thinking I might put my TV here...I might even bump up for a tad larger tv.. Thoughts?
Airehead Posted July 29, 2020 Share #2 Posted July 29, 2020 You can get a swivel mount that goes on one wall and then move the tv to fill the corner. Be sure you are sure where you want it because it really makes a mess of the wall.
Further Posted July 29, 2020 Share #3 Posted July 29, 2020 The important thing is that you can see it from 'your' chair. And it makes you happy.

Randomguy Posted July 29, 2020 Share #7 Posted July 29, 2020 You need a larger tv. MUCH larger tv.
Kirby Posted July 29, 2020 Share #8 Posted July 29, 2020 I'd live with what you have for awhile and see how you feel about it. If you want a bigger tv later, they'll be plenty of time to get one later. See where you sit and how you use the new furniture and then you can decide.
Bikeguy Posted July 29, 2020 Share #9 Posted July 29, 2020 Is the A/C unit noisy? Will you be able to hear the TV over the A/C? What about the door? Too much glare from the outside on a TV? If the door is open, can it rain on the TV?
Square Wheels Posted August 2, 2020 Share #10 Posted August 2, 2020 Then you can't move your furniture around. You're married to where the TV is. 3

Move furniture, remount the TV when decided on a new room layout. Seriously, how often do you rearrange furniture? I think the AC noise is the bigger issue - if one at all. Costco has this one that is 4.8/5.0 rating, so seemingly pretty well reviewed. Go with a 50" TV and you'll be fine.

Once the optimal spot for a tv is chosen, the room is built around that placement.

Two or four screws in a wall are not "permanent". How many times have you moved a TV (significantly) in the past decade?

I got lots of practice filling nail holes (pictures nails) at our old home before we sold it.

I assume he has doorways and windows and probably a kitchen full of appliances. Some of the greatest joy I find is moving my refrigerator around the house. Sure, it's heavy and noisy, but having it in the master bedroom for six months was super convenient. You can't imagine how nice it is to know I can just unplug it and move it (losing the icemaking ability, though).
