Popular Post BR46 Posted August 3, 2020 Popular Post Share #1 Posted August 3, 2020 My race started in Chicago. In traffic another sidecar team tried to pass us. now they're drafting us. Friday practice went great. Saturday we get 2 rounds of practice and then the main race. In the second round of practice we picked up a bad vibration and the next lap we broke 15 spokes in the rear wheel. It was a fun ride when the tire blew and Wo46 was hanging out at 60+ mph. Another team gave us a rear wheel so we could race Saturday and Sunday. Saturday we were in 3rd place and got passed by another team. Wo46 was late gettinggettifor a turn and we ended up running off the track and had to settle for a 5th place. In Sunday's race we found ourselves in 3rd place again. We were passed by the same team again. After passing each other several times I decided to sit back until the final lap knowing that I have more motor then they do and the last 2 turns are in my favor because of the sidecar setup. With 2 laps left the bike died when this his part broke. Friday morning we were working on the Superbike when someone came over and was saying how much he loved the 90s Superbikes. I said that's it's for sale. 10 minutes later he ended up buying it. I told him that my son was planning on racing it Saturday and Sunday. The guy who brought it said race it I would love to see it run.

I was pushing it hard, we had a crappy borrowed tire and Wo46 was a little late getting out. We were sliding sideways and on the gas trying to get back on the gas with Wo46 hanging out in this position. She was laughing about our off track excursion when we got back to the pits. 4

With the covid thing a lot of the track days that we were planning on doing so we could test and tune were canceled. We never had a chance to setup the bike properly for racing. We just winged it. maddmaxx ★ Posted August 4, 2020 Share #9 Posted August 4, 2020 Racing is like this. Hours of work, lots of frustration, and every now and then just enough success to make it all fun.

We swapped back and forth a few times and I was in the lead for about 50 miles. We got passed when we had to make a pit stop with about 30 miles to go. 1

It's the mechanical timing advance for the ignition. At around 7,000 rpm this pin the holds the fly weighs broke.
