pretty interesting. Vicki Draves. Olympic diver. Had to join the Fairmont Hotel Swimming & diving club under her mom's maiden name. Her dad  was a Filipino and this was the 40's. Iner racial marriage prohibited. Segregated pools. They would drain the pool after she practiced. She married her coach prior to the 1948 Olympics & then won gold in Springboard & platform

Among my old newspaper stuff, I have an article where they were saying that it was too bad the Police Chief wasn't around the reservoir a couple days previously because there was a party of Italians swimming in it. They were complaining because the reservoir was used for drinking water etc. 

They were apparently ok with drinking farm runoff, but not Italians swimming in it.
