Ralphie ★ Posted August 1, 2014 Share #1 Posted August 1, 2014 I am partial to quiet and weird independent movies. I just thought of one today as I was in a traffic jam. I think its name was Traffic Jam. A Hollywood one that sort of fit that category was U Turn, with a young Jennifer Lopez and Sean Penn.

Ralphie ★ Posted August 1, 2014 Author Share #6 Posted August 1, 2014 classics - 40's 50's B&W flicks. I can never get far with those. Although 12 Angry Men, Key Largo, and Treasure of the Sierra Madre were all pretty darn good.

Thaddeus Kosciuszko Posted August 1, 2014 Share #8 Posted August 1, 2014 Science fiction, especially where the movie contains random and unjustified violent expansions of energy that cause uncontrolled dis-assembly of particulate matter.

Former member Posted August 1, 2014 Share #10 Posted August 1, 2014 WWII movies are fun, especially old ones that have Nazis with British accents.
MoseySusan Posted August 1, 2014 Share #11 Posted August 1, 2014 We watched Alan Partridge Alpha Papa last night and thought it was pretty funny. Yesterday we watched From Here to Eternity...so tragic, but damn Burt Lancaster was hot.

Ya, knowing how old you are those talkies were just a little too far ahead of your time. I'm sure you long for Martha playing the organ during the feature film. kingtermite Posted August 2, 2014 Share #13 Posted August 2, 2014 Any genre is good for me, generally speaking, though Sci-Fi is my "comfort food " equivalent of movie genres. The movies that I like best are ones that surprise me. 95% of movies are totally predictable. I love it when a movie takes a plot turn that I didn't see coming a mile away.

Parr8hed Posted August 2, 2014 Share #21 Posted August 2, 2014 I have a wide range of movies that I enjoy. I don't really dig on horror films. I do like the suspense thrillers. But I still think that my favs are the 80's style action movies where a dude whoops everyone's ass and spouts hilarious one-liners while doing it. Roadhouse was about as good as it gets. Tombstone was another of my favs.
