Ralphie ★ Posted August 3, 2014 Share #4 Posted August 3, 2014 Yeah, that probably wouldn't work for Wile E Coyote, would it? And maybe he believes like I almost do that Murphy's Law might even be more immutable than the laws of physics.
Road Runner Posted August 3, 2014 Author Share #5 Posted August 3, 2014 I suppose that if there was an earthquake nearby that occurred right after he let the ball go, that it might come back and smack him in the face. But if he is worried about that, he probably should get a student to volunteer to do the experiment.
MoseySusan Posted August 3, 2014 Share #6 Posted August 3, 2014 The science teachers at my previous school let student volunteers swing a hammer. It freaks them out every time!
Thaddeus Kosciuszko Posted August 3, 2014 Share #7 Posted August 3, 2014 There has got to be a way for an enterprising student to get up into the rafters of that room and give that rope an eeeeensy-weensy push.

Yeah, I don't understand why he has his eyes closed. The whole fun of the experiment to see the thing coming right at you but knowing that it can't hit you.
