Allen ★ Posted August 20, 2020 Share #1 Posted August 20, 2020 We had skeet day today. I need a better thrower. The one I have still has a good arm but it’s legs are kinda janky. I hit 20 out of 20.

Longjohn ★ Posted August 20, 2020 Share #6 Posted August 20, 2020 I tried shooting skeetoes. Used up a lot of ammo, didn’t have much to show for it.
Parr8hed Posted August 20, 2020 Share #7 Posted August 20, 2020 My favorite form of shooting. I love sporting clays. So fun. @Airehead is the person to beat around here.

Johnny Come Lately Name Posted August 20, 2020 Share #9 Posted August 20, 2020 Tried that once, went 20/20. All misses. Used to work with a nationally ranked trap shooter. He said “come shoot with me, I’ll teach you”. I said “I don’t need another expensive hobby I don't have time for”. 1

Mr. Silly Posted August 20, 2020 Share #12 Posted August 20, 2020 My dad and I would go out a couple times a summer to shoot skeet as a kid. I got pretty good with my .410. I don't think I could go 20/20 with it because it was just a .410.

Now that I have my perfectly acceptable geezer bike I have only modelling, both plastic and RC drag cars for a hobby. That's expensive enough for a retired guy. Any more hobbies and I'd have to go back to work.

Lose your power once in a while (I know you do!), get a generator! Get a foot of snow one winter? Get a snowblower! Tired of cutting the 1/4 acre of grass with a push mower? Get a ride-on mower! Is the siding dingy and moldy? Get a power washer! How about a tree limb down in the yard? Get a chain saw and a chipper! New to replace some crown moulding? Time for a miter saw, a nail gun, an air compressor, a new bench, and some other power tools! You can do it, Maxx!
ChrisL Posted August 20, 2020 Share #17 Posted August 20, 2020 We used to do a lot of trap & skeet back in the day. I had a sweet 1100 but it got stolen... We secured our bird thrower to a big block of wood and it kept it from moving around. But it then became a PITA to load & unload... I had a scar on my leg for years where the arm got me. my cousin was cocking it back & I was leaning in to put a bird down when it slipped out of his hand before cocking and whacked me on the thigh... Nice puncture wound...

Those damn things are a nuisance as they are everywhere... Local laws vary but skeet season in CA is year round.
