Rocker Arm Stud

Had backed out.  Increasing the clearances.  Push rod was about to pop out.  It's a simple fix for my lawn mower.  Glad I checked the youtubes because I was about to sell the damn thing.  Who would have thought to check the rocker arm studs?  Apparently it's a known problem with single cylinder Briggs motors.

Those youtubes are amazing.

I loved working on Briggs engines when I was a kid.  Usually little more than taking the head off and decarbonizing.  But they're not overhead valve are they?  I remember the valves being in the block.

This one is.  Here is the video I was watching.  Same motor as mine.
