ChrisL Posted August 26, 2020 Share #1 Posted August 26, 2020 With the recent tragedies involving soldiers at Fort Hood, home of the 1st Cavalry Division there have been numerous images of the troop and their cavalry hats. Personally I think they are dated and looks odd but I get the 1st Cav loves them and they bring esprit de corps for the unit. My middle brother was in the 1st Cav, I shoukd tell him that. I used to make fun of his unit patch. The horse they never rode, the line they never crossed and everyone knows what yellow stands for! Handed the responsibility of HHC 1-5 CAV to a great 1SG. Good luck with Hammer Company and take care of them. Now I get to enjoy some time as the 1-5 CAV “Black Knights” Operations Sergeant Major. I thought those hats looked familiar. Yeah I kinda remember that picture as well which is why I asked. Do know this, there is no higher enlisted rank than Sgt Major.
